Question about Maytag MAH6700AWW Neptune Front-Load Washer

My Maytage Neptune Front Loading Washing Machine

Machine started, water pumped in, then it stopped, the code "nd" started flashing which in the past meant the drain was frozen. Checked and drain is not frozen and now there's no code at all. When you start it, the door locks, but nothing happens.

These units all use the same computer module to control it.
random failures are part of the symptom of bad solder joints on board.
loose cables to the control computer can be part of it too.

opening the top (3 scres on top back) and re-seating the connectors will take a couple of mins , the solder job can take 30 min or more.
see these links as this applies to your unit too even though the models are not the same.

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
Ahhh, the ND error code on a digital Neptune front load washer. The ND code means 'No Drain' and it is probably just something caught in the pump. I've seen where a coin can get in there and keep the pump from starting.

Some other items known to stop a Neptune pump: Rubber backing from a rug, rubber bands, bobbie pin, lens from a flashlight, tooth pick and a bra wire. Maybe you had something different in your pump?

If you have a floor drain you should be able to drop the discharge hose to the floor and let gravity pull the water out so you can take the pump out and get a good look at it.

Also a word of advice to avoid wasting time. The pump is usually towards the front of the machine. ok?
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Mike

Stopped with a load and water displayed a code of nd

Hi,
When error code "nd " flashes remove water pump, check for thongs, baby socks and sometimes hair pins or even screws can obstruct the water pump.
Simply remove the pump and remove the obstruction that is keeping it from draining. This will fix your problem.

Thank you !!

Nd on washer

Hi Zandra,

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code ND means “No Drain issue”. To start with you’ll need to check for any restriction in pump assembly. It can also be due to a restricted drain hose or loose wire at pump. If after cleaning the drain hose the issue is not resolved then it means the pump has gone bad and unfortunately needs to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Won't finish cycle, water still in tub, code nd

check the following to address this issue.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

Maytage Neptune E3 code - Model MAH8700AWW - machine won't finish cycle

“E3” code – Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach response. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)
Possible causes of ‘E3’ codes: 1. Spin drum stuck – Verify that the spinner moves freely to eliminate this cause. 2. Hall Sensor fails or is loose – When the Hall Sensor fails or becomes dislodged, the control doesn't recognize that the motor is spinning and shuts down. The result will likely be an “E3” code in the worst case, or “SUdS” if it is only getting a partial rpm reading. Check wire harness connector(s) to motor.
Hall Sensor – PCB that is located on the back of the motor that senses motor rpm. It is not a separate part, but rather an integral part of the motor.

What does the code ND mean?

ND - No Drain
Machine control board monitors water level in washer during and at the end of pump out. If wash level does not reset pressure switch, it will see water left in the washer.

1.Check for pump/drain restriction.

2.Check pump operation.

3.Check pressure switch for open contacts.

4.Check inputs and outputs at machine control board.

5.Replace responsible component.

"nd" refers to a No Drain issue .check for restriction in pump, restricted drain hose loose wire at pump, bad pump.
The pump had a suds lock. Unplug the machine for a minute. Plug it back in and run a cycle on hot to get rid of the excess soap.
