Re: palm v cold start

There is a recessed button on the back that you have to hold in with a opened paperclip (or you can also unscrew the top of your stylus, the top has a projecting pin you can use) when powering it up. I think you have to hold it in for 20 seconds or so.

Palm Treo synchronize calendar daylight savings time

You need to go to your phone carrier support page, or to and download the daylight savings time update.  You SHOULD keep network time checked unless you don't want to pull the proper time from your carrier, such as when you are out of town.

Can't install palmone quick install on vista

Vista and quick install work just fine for me.. Here is the process.. Using latest 4.1 from

you may loose palm desktop data and the users you have created

shut down hotsync, quick install, and palm desktop

go to start.. Programs... Palm desktop

highlight hotsync manager and left click... Go to properties...

Go to compatibility tab and tick run in windows XP mode

select disable visual themes and at bottom select run as administrator

OK that and go to quick install and palm desktop and do the exact same

restart hotsync manager (you will need to allow the program now)

start palm desktop (you will likely need a new user created) (you will also have to allow)

start quick install and poof it will work like new on your vista PC

I struggled with that one for at least 45 min myself but I can now go to quick install and find my application and upload to my palm and sync with ease!

Hope that helps

Palm tx

Fixed - Hotsync all your stuff to your desktop. Remove any cards, and do a cold boot (press reset while holding down power button)

Then synch everything back again. I'm never buying another palm again.

When starting my palm V it is not getting started and .....

maybe just maybe you understand your palm pda is out of memory.

try backing it up to your pc.

then delting all the data from the palm's memory.

then synchronise a sub set of the data from your pc back to your palm.

see if this fixes it .

please can you tell me how to cold start my palm v?

Complete uninstall of palm desktop?

How I uninstalled Palm Desktop for the 7135: Suggest this step: 1) Find your Palm files, all of them, most likely /Program Files/Palm, and make a copy of the folder, call it Palm Backup. That should leave all of your existing information as is, just in case 2) Using the control panel, find and remove Palm Desktop (Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Applications) 3) Suggest you optionally reboot. 4) Now do the install of your new Palm Treo 650 software. This is what I did, and all is well. I had different problems when I decided to go back to my 7135. Seems that using the same techniques does NOT remove the PalmOne software, lots of residual modules, and even if I did a delete of the entire Palm directory, there must be links everywhere. The 650 has extraordinary capabilities, but in the end, I went back to my 7135.
