How to connect my COmponents to my new LCD TV

I am having trouble with figuring out how to connect my digital cable terminal, DVD player and PS2 to my new LG LCD TV. I seem to be able to have the digital terminal as component 1, my DVD as Av1 but can't figure out where to put the PS2...I'm also not particularily tech savy, so this is frustratin...I keep having to switch cords at the back of the tv to use either the DVD or ps1...

Re: how to connect my COmponents to my new LCD TV

Do you mean a Playstation 2? If so, buy a SCART to component converter (like a SCART plug but with yellow white and red inputs) Put it in one of the SCART sockets and plug in your PS2. Hope that helps...

When i connect my ps2 to my lcd tv the display is in black and white but when i connect my dvd player there is no problem at all

This smells of a connection issue. Are you using the same cables to hook up both the DVD and PS2? If you are using component cables (5 heads) make sure the colors are matched up. Mixing those cables up can lead to a B/W picture. With more information as to how you are connecting both the DVD and the PS2 I might be able to find a more definitive answer for you.

Hope that helps!

Connected my DVD player to my new Sony Bravia BX4 40 with scart, get a picture but no sound. also tried to connecting my PS2 and i am getting the same problem....any ideas!?

Using the manual that came with your TV, recheck all of your connections. They are specifically marked for audio and video and have the connections for a number of components. I have a Sony Bravias and my audio cables are yellow on the end and the videos are red and white. What sort of TV Service do you have? Cable or Satellite. When you are wanting to use the DVD player, you have to change the input using the the input button on your remote to get an onscreen menu of all your components. If you have Satellite TV, you can use your Satellite remote to do this.

Let me know if this does not help. These are great TVS!

I can't figure out how to connect our dvd player to the tv. We also have a cable box and a tivo box. The dvd player has the cord with the red, yellow and white plugs on both ends but I can't figure out...

Look at the back or side of TV you will see AV in with the same colors Yellow, Red, White. Just follow the code and plug your DVD cable accordingly. Remember to switch the menu to AV to see the program.

Lcd tv hookup

Ive got 3 samsung tv's (lcd, plasma, DLP) and I use HDMI cables on all of them. Its the only way to get the full potential out of the tv. When you use the red/white/yellow RCA cables the signal is anolog aka "old technology". Component cables are good but HDMI is the best. HDMI is a digital signal and thats what all the components that go with the tv should be run on. If your dvd player does not have an HDMI output I would suggest getting one that has that output. As for the cable box most require you to upgrade to digital cable in order to get one with an HDMI output. If you dont want to spend the money on new components and run what you have now the picture will stay mediocre at best. Good luck hope this helped
