Re: PSP disc reading
First check the disc, if it's scratched or dirty, you'll probably have to get another one. If it's not this, you can try cleaning the lens with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip being very gentle. If this doesn't work or it's making a terrible racket, then you will probably need to buy a new UMD drive and install it, or have a reputable repairman do it for you.

I don't think it is posible to fix this problem. The region code is like the one they put on DVD's to stop piracy. So if i bought the UMD in America I couln't play it on a PSP bought in Asia.Hope this helps.
If your PSP isn't reading
games and/or movies and the problem isn't that your trying to play
dirty, bent, or damaged UMD discs there are a number of other reasons
your PSP is not reading disks correctly = - Your UMD motor may be malfunctioning.
- Your laser may have worn down from use over time.
- Your UMD drive tray may be bent.
- There may be a foreign object in your UMD drive
* disks fail to load
* extremely slow loading
* strange whirring noise when trying to read disks
For whatever reason your PSP has stopped reading games and/or movies we

try to use or play other compatible discs,and if you encounter the same issues,most likely there's something wrong with your psp hardware and you need to bring it in to be diagnosed and repaired if warranted.or use the disc game in question and play it in another working psp,if it shows the same symptoms,then it's defective,otherwise,your psp console needs to be checked.
Try a different disk? I've found that sometimes when you turn on the psp and you're in the game menu of the PSP menu, the UMD won't be there, but if you go over to music or something, and go back to game, it will have returned.
