During BIOS update toshiba m305-s4910 froze for several hours. I disconnected the battery and connected it, and I got 2 bips and a black screen. the keyboard dose not respond.

For that first you need to open back cover of laptop reconnect RAM memory . Then you need to upgrade bios. For that download bios update from toshiba web sites then upgrade bios again then it will be working fine. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

My touchpad is not working on my acer aspire 5315 my cat walked over keyboerd when i was using it and curser has gone what can i do

Hi there,
Your Touchpad is disabled, thats why its not working, to enable again, simply press Fn+F7 Key, you will see a small blue icon on F7 key, with a finger pointing, its basically a short cut for enabling/disabling Touchpad,
If it doesnt works, restart your laptop once, and restore the BIOS settings to default, save the settings and reboot laptop, and it should be working again,
Feel free to reply to this post if you require more assistance,

How can i access my laptop samsung R522 is affected virus. its not booting. It has point sec also. when system is booting the the error is occurd every time.

If you can get it to the set screen or BIOS to change boot order, From another PC download the ISO burner (Imageburn) , and then download the Trinity Rescue cd ISO Image and save to desktop. Dr.Web also has a good rescue CD, both are free and so is Imageburn and all have tutorials.

If you need a walk through you can email me and I can call you and walk you through the process.
good luck

I press function key & the wireless capabillity still dnt turn on is there another way 2 turn it on? its a ms6837d

Most consumer laptops have a hardware wifi on/off switch located on the sides of the laptop or toward the top row or even near the trackpad.
Also, on some laptops and most netbooks, the Fn key has alternate uses, however, it most keyed in with other keys in order to make the shortcut execute the command. In this case, Fn might not work without also holding the "Shift" or "Ctrl" key + the F-key that corresponds to the enabling/disabling of wifi.
Lastly, you might also want to look into the BIOS screen (when booting the laptop) most portable devices offer a low-level disable from that menu so that even when enabling via the Fn-keys or directly from the Windows/OSX/Linux OS, it will not turn on and stay disabled until changed via the BIOS menu.

Hi BIOS password fogoten

you will have to contact Toshiba. desktop units are fairly easy to reset bios passwords. laptops are very difficult if not impossible to do this with. if you are the original owner of the laptop they will assist you with walking through the reset process. if this is out of warranty they will charge you. good luck !

Touch pad possessed.

To turn off the touchpad when an external mouse or other pointing device is present, you can goto the Control Panel and double click the Mouse properties icon.

Click the Device Select tab and check "Disable Touch Pad when USB Pointing Device is present." The cursor will no longer move via the touchpad.

Alternatively, you can permanently disable the touchpad of your laptop by clicking the "Disable Device" in the Touch Pad setting. Advanced users can disable the touchpad from the BIOS setup [press F2 when the computer is booting to enter BIOS settings]

For extra USB ports, purchase a USB hub($15 -$20). That way you can add at least 4 USB ports to your laptop.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
