The PF is a power failure code and it indicates the control is not sensing any line voltage
Check the circuit breaker for the dryer is not tripped. The PF could be caused by a voltage drop during a storm but you should be able to clear it and run the dryer
as per heatman
The most common cause of your appliance giving you the PF error code is a problem with the power coming in from your utility company. Of course if there is an interruption of power, and then the power comes back on you will get the PF codeLoose wires going to the circuit board or the control can also be a cause of the error code. If a wire terminal end happens to get corroded or loose, the vibration from the machine can cause slight power problems and this can cause the PF code to be displayed. Finding the cause of this type of problem is like finding a needle in a haystack. Sometimes you can cause it to be displayed by banging on the side of the appliance or slightly moving the wiring harness, to see if you can get the error code to display.
The bottom line about this power failure error code, is that it is power related. Finding the exact cause can be difficult. If you are continually having to reset the appliance then check to see if all of your appliances are giving the same code. This will indicate utility power problems. If only one appliance is giving the PF code then it is probably internal to the appliance.
Error codes appear when there are problems with the door, the inflow and drainage of water and the motor.
Do Your Maytag Neptune washer displays the "do" help code when the washing machine is trying to start a cycle, but the door is open or not locked properly. If this message is displayed, close the door securely and restart the washing cycle.
FL The "FL" code indicates that the washing machine was unable to lock the door after you closed it. Open and close the door tightly, then restart the washing cycle.
Sd The "Sd" code indicates that you have added too much detergent to the washing machine and your laundry has too many suds. The machine will stop displaying this code if it has successfully run the suds recovery cycle, which removes the excess suds from the wash load. If the code remains, reduce the amount of detergent in the load. Use less detergent for similar loads of laundry in the future.
PF The "PF" code indicates that a power failure has occurred. Restart the wash cycle. If the code still appears, check that the washing machine is still plugged in to the electrical outlet.
Nd The "nd" code indicates that your Maytag Neptune is not draining as it should. Check that the drain hose isn't kinked and that the stand pipe isn't clogged. If you find either of these problems, fix them before restarting the washing cycle.
LO The "LO" code appears when the washing machine has finished the selected wash cycle, but cannot unlock the door. Verify that the door is closed properly, push the "Off" button, and wait two minutes. The door should unlock and the error code will disappear. If the error code remains, unplug the washing machine, wait two minutes and plug it back into the electrical outlet.
Lr The "Lr" code indicates that the washing machine's motor is not running as it should. Have your Maytag Neptune washing machine serviced by a certified Maytag repair professional. Maytag Neptune Priority One Service: (888) 462-9824
NF The "nF" code appears when the washing machine has tried to fill with water and has failed. Verify that the inlet hoses aren't kinked and that the faucets are fully open.

You said, you have a situation with my washer machine
(Maytag Neptune front loader). It was making the noise several times as
latching the door, then if would go off and you could not open the door, You found the under soap deposit cord but the situation is not opening
the door or no, it is getting he machine to work. Whichever cycle you press, the door makes the locking noise several times, sometimes the
door can not be opened and the lock door light is off, the thing is
that whichever cycle you try the numbers on the electronic pad would go
down several numbers and then it will again make the door locking noise
and will stop there, the start button begins flashing and the machine
does not wash at all on any cycle, neither it spins or rinses. Can you
please, please, help me? Ohooo... some times after trying and trying
get the FL code... you have tried keeping it disconnected from the
electricity for long periods, plugging it back and all you can think
off.... but nothing!!!
You did the right thing
The Maytag Neptune had a lot of very different defects that Maytag was, and is aware of still. That is why they discontinued that model . But if you call Maytag service this time, you may find that it will be one of those defects in their design and an authorized Maytag person will recognize which fault is taking place. perhaps they may cover the parts if you bring it to their attention.
