Problem with colored cartridge

I have a Canon Multipass MP390 and lately whenever I try to print something (in color) it always comes out a greenish, blueish color.
For example the color red came out yellow, pink came out white and all of this with a tone of green and blue all over the page. I have cleaned my printer, the heads and all but I still have the same problem. If anyone can help me it would greatly be appreciated. Now even the black ink won't print.

Well I want to thank you all.

The cartridges are the original Canon makes. I have been using the same kind for the past 3 years and never had a problem like this. As for the cartridge they are new, I even tried another new one thinking that it could of been a problem with the other cartridge but still the same problem. But thank you for trying.

Are the cartriges original Canon make ?
If so from what you have said it sounds like the printer head is damaged or the cartriges themselves are in need of a deep clean. If you leave the printer idle for long periods of time in heat you will notice this tends to happen. I also tend to print something random off just to keep the ink from drying out.

Perhaps your cartride is low on ink, some printers will give you a status inside your printer settings on how much ink is in the cartridges.

Printer is not printing any red colors. Printer has new cartridge. Any ideas?

I think the cartridge did not contain the red colors in the mixture when producing it, so all you need to do now is to get another cartridge that will contain the red colors.

When you Look at the cartridge leaf very well, you will see the colors the cartridge contain.

I wish you best of luck

There's a great solution that worked for me if you can find it - in Canon troubleshooting and support - 3rd set "Black not printing" - Solution no. 3 posted Jun 08 2007. It fixed my problem using only a straw. Hope this helps.

Yes, you can print out in black from a color cartridge, however it is not advised as you will run out of colored ink twice as fast as it combines all the colors to get black. However it works great when your in a pinch and need black ink.
Just go to your printer properties when you print and the option will be in there someware.

Not printing in color

If the color was faded and the printing blurred, what I did was to check the nozzle pattern, align the print head and then calibrate the process. It's all in your manual. Once I completed those steps (just a few minutes), the printing was clear and the colors bright. Hope t his works for you.

Black not printing

I just ran into a similar issue with my MP390. Actually both the color and black inks were not printing very well. I would get very inconsistent printing. Fixed the problem very easily and quickly as follows: On the top of each print cartridge, there is a small hole. Remove the print head (lift the gray bar at the front of the print head and lift out the print head) with the cartridges still in place. Holding the print head over a piece of paper/paper towel, blow into the holes on the top of the cartridges (either directly or using a straw/tube of some kind). You should get ink coming out of the botton of the print head, both color and black. Replace and print head and test print.
