To sync music you have to first open the Rhapsody music player (If you don't have Rhapsody you have to download it fom the Sansa disk or you cannot add music). From there you can drag the songs you want from your library onto the icon in the list on the left that says "Sansa e250". On that screen there is a bar at the bottom that tells you how much space is left on your Sansa.

Hope this helps!

My computer has windows 98 is there any way I can use my sansa e250 with this? If what do I do?

Yes that's what I'm using right now, you should load the software that came with the player if you have and simply use Windows Media Player to create a library of songs from which to choose, when your ready connect your device and clisk on the SYNC tab then this will allow you to pick songs or whole albums to the right sync column, when this has everything you want click the START SYNC tab and it all will load into your player.

I can't put songs on my Sansa Sandisk e250....

You must have the automatic synchronization option checked - go to and enter "windows media player manual sync" as your search term - it will give you click-by-click instructions with pictures on how to disable the automatic synchronization; it will also, give you pictures on how to sync a song.

Coppying problems

Note: this method erases all songs - starts you over:
Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out:

Sansa e250 sync and rhapsody -- ugh

the Walmart songs should be usable, but the old Rhapsody songs will have to be reloaded, or your Rhapsody sub will have to be renewed.

Hey to get music onto the Sansa e250R you have to plug the Sansa into the computer. Next go to mycomputer. Then onen ethier sansa or Removable Disk(F:). Then take the songs you want and drag them on to the white space under photos and vidos and all that other files. DO NOT PUT IT IN A FILE.
