Question about 2wire 1800HG Router (RG1800HG00)
I am trying to use 2wire 1800HG on an IP outside the UK. I downloaded the latest device drivers from http://www.btopenworld.com/drivers and have successfully installed them. I have connected the router to my pc via usb and the device appears in windows device manager under the network adapter tab. Both the power and local network LEDs are lit green. The broadband link LED however when the DSL cable is plugged flashes green instantenously before being lit red. I tried getting on the gateway page to configure my router but the page cannot be displayed. (it appears that in order to use the configuration page the router must first be capable of recognising the DSL signal) I can get online using a modem my IP provided me with but the router configuration page cannot be displayed. I did some research and I think that the router is locked to BT. My problem could be solved by flashing my router's firmware with an unlocked version, but so far I haven't found anything for the particular model. The inability to log onto the manufacturers gateway (not website) complicates things further. Any help or advice is welcome.
You still need a dsl signal (steady green light on broadband link) before you could gain access to the gateway page
