Faint blue vertical bars on screen

I have noticed that when my screen is dark I see very faint vertical blue bars on the screen. They are noticable only when the screen is dark or when a movie has a very dark scene.

What you see on your screen are retrace lines, it can happen for various reasons. Jut lower the screen voltage by adjusting the knob specified as "screen" on the LOT, this will disappear.

LOT or Line Output Transformer is also called FBT or Flyback Transformer is the transformer that provides hight tension voltage for the final anode and various other voltages. You can identify this easily by tracing the big red wire that goes to the top of the picture tube, this wire starts from the LOT. There will be two controls situated on this transformer, one is focus and the other is screen. Turn the screen control just a little bit to the left, decrease, and the lines won't appear again.

Panasonic ctp2780sf no picture faint line going vertical across screen

There are two reasons for this fault. A fault smoothing capacitor at the video output voltage rail, or excess of screen voltage. These lines are called 'vertical retrace lines' technically. Check this link for more details. It has a post, which have information regarding this fault. Go to older posts there.

Your correct, LCD's don't burn. This sounds like a defective main control module. I would take it in as soon as possible to have it looked at.

Very faint vertical bar moving across plasma screen.

OK... Left to Right is weird. I'd say one of two things.
Refresh Rate might be to low or to high, but i doubt this to be the cause. I'll put my money on external interferences. Something like another PC screen? TV? anything magnetic and I've even in some cases noticed PC side panels too close to a screen can cause this.

Shadows and Ghosts on the Screen

Plugged up display via the VGA cable to an HP dv6000 laptop; the Acer powered up and displayed fine ... however, noticed a faint waving motion in the picture, as if the screen was literally gel and began to wave, from top to bottom as it appeared. Best I can describe it ... any suggestions as to why? I only connected it to this HP to try it out, I ordered it from newegg and wanted to make sure pixels werent dead on arival. I will be getting an Aurora 7500 (Alienware): AMD X2 6000, Windows Vista Premium, 2GB RAM, GeForce 512 8800GT, SLI ready motherboard ... I heard good things of Acer and hoped this display would look great with my soon-to-come setup and im sure it will. However, just nervous it will do this on my Aurora. Any help or suggestions would be beyond appreciated!!

Most likely it's the LCD panel failure. You can replace the panel if you can find a spare part. But the new panel may cost you as much as to buy a new tv. Hope that will help you.
