Re: wireless

If you are using Gateway 450ROG PC Notebook Laptop then as per the specification shown the following url it has the wifi inbuilt.

(Pls confirm with your supplier).

To go wireless three options,

  1. Get into any Hotspot or Wireless Service area and follow the instruction given by the provider
  2. or you get a Wireless gateway for your home/office and setup your own wireless network.
  3. If you want only back to back connection to another laptop use the method called adhoc in wireless setting.

I have an aspire 3680, how do I connect wireless? It has a wireless card, I just dont know how to make it connect.

You should have a wireless configuration tool (there is one built in to Windows). You will need to know the SSID, encryption type, and passphrase for the network you are trying to log on to. Enter that information into the configuration tool and you should be fine.

More than likely your wireless Service on Laptop needs to be turned ON. Depending on the make of your laptop, you may find a wireless on/off switch at the fronte side. Or somewhere above the "F" keys. If you do not find the on/off switch we must revert to manualy from Operating system, which will defer depending on which one you have.

Basicaly - Go to "Control Panel" once there change to classic view ( on the left side )

Once in classic view you need to find "Administrative Tools" and select.

Once in "Admin. Tools" look and select "Services"

Once in services you need to scroll all the way to the bottom and select "Wireless Zero`` and make sure this service is turned on.

It should, at this point, be able to view your wireless connection.

Make sure your Wireless service in Windows is correctly configured.
Go to: START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, ADMIISTRATIVE TOOLS. In Administrative Tools, open Services. Scroll to the bottom and look for Wireless Zero Configuration. Right-click and change startup to AUTOMATIC. Re-boot and see if that helps.
