Hotpoint ultima DF32

Doesn't drain!
fills ok, washes ok, when opened water fills the base of the machine, obviously not draining as it should. Interior filter is clear - we've bailed out to check. No obvious blockage.
Is it repairable as diy?
is it worth repairing?
what's the likely cost for a call out? and
Does anyone know someone in the Cambridge area they could recommend?

I have a Hotpoint BF71 dishwasher. I put it on but it hasn't worked, it filled with water which won't drain not will it even start now. I took out the filter but I couldn't find any blockages Help!

Reset the power at the breaker, but you may need a new pump and motor assembly. The same pump washes and drains on most Hotpoint models- a solenoid is used to open a drain flap and let the water out, but a bad pump will equal no wash or drain... Check your air gap on your kitchen sink. If equipped, you will most likely find it clogged. Pull off the metal cap, then unscrew the white or clear cap. You should find your clog there. Replace both caps and remember to pre-rinse the dishes better before loading.

you are probably plumbed in under the sink for the drain hose. a common problem is water coming back down the drain hose when you empty the sink. if so take the drain hose up as far as possible in a swan neck. other possibility is a leaking fill valve

Does not advance to drain cycle

I would bet that it is the timer switch assy.
Motor runs ? yes
washes? yes
drain tube clear ? yes

If there is no drain valve to deal with, the problem must be the contacts during the timer cycle, since the main obviously works or you wouldn't be able to wash anything.
you need a new timer switch assy.
