    Hi

    Thanks for responding.

    It is Electrolux ESL 63010.

The lower rack slides out on to it for loading and unloading. At the moment I have to hold the door down with my knee whilst loading etc but occasionally if I move the door shoots up and so do the pots!!! It just won't stay down and it's only a few months old.

My KitchenAid Dishwasher door won't stay closed. It keeps popping open after a few seconds.

I experienced the same problem after my tension cables broke. The door fell open with such force that it bent the hinges a little. If you've replaced the tension strings (which you should do every 5-8 years) then you don't have to replace the latch. I did and it didn't solve the problem.
Here's the solution:
Put a towel at the bottom of each side of the door by the hinge.
Push the door closed a couple of times to bend back the hinges.
Remove the towels and you're back in action.
Good luck

Door will not stay down when opened to load dishwasher

Sounds like the door springs need to adjusted to a lighter tension. Take off bottom panel(s) to access them.

well if its new you should not touch it ,,the best thing to do is call for service because your under warranty,,there a 1-800 number on the inside lip when you open door..or check the back of your owners manual..if anyone srevices it it will void your warranty,,not worth it ....good luck

The door on my miele G481 built in dishwasher won't stay open it's really annoying that it keeps popping up when I'm trying to load.

hi,

what you need to do is slack off the spring tension on the door hinges. each side of the unit at the base on the plinth there is a screw with a spring symbol next to it. turn this anti clockwise to reduce the spring tension.

Hope this helps

hi,

you need to adjust the door tension springs which is by a screw each side of the hinges on the plinth of the unit at the front. There is a symbol of a spring to show you which screws to release. do them evenly and the door will not spring up,

Hi,
The problem you have here is the solenoid valve is either not opening or there is no water to the dishwsher. For more help check out this tip.

Door will not stay down while loading

Please search for the sticker that is probably one the door (right side) that lists the model and serial number of your dishwasher. It is hard to provide specifics without this information.

But generally, the spring that is part of your door hinge has broken and will need to be replaced.

Please post back here with more info, OK?
