GE Dishwasher won't fill with water

IF you replaced the valve then the problem is the power supply not getting the right voltage to the valve. This could be from the door switch not showing the control panel that the door is closed.

I have a ge dishwasher that will not fill with water. Have replaced the float switch which burned out instantly checked water valve ok any idea what could be wrong?

How did you check the water valve? Did you measure the coil's resistance? What was the value? If less than 10 ohms, then you have a shorted coil.

Power works no water into unit

hELLO THERE:
If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these: Water-inlet valve Float switch Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it. Float switch The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

Water doesn't fill after 50-60 secs of valve

Float valve is not used in normal cycle, it is a failsafe method. Energy conservation issues dictated less water during washing.

We have a multi-family home and all units have new Nautilus GE dishwashers. Our second floor tenant is complaining of water not getting into the unit. We have tried unsuccessfully to figure out the...

There are two reasons that may cause the water not to enter the unit.
  1. Water-inlet valve. It lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

My GE Profile top load washer won't hold water

Your drain line is too low or has a blocked air gap. Take the drain line out of the drain. Hold it up high and turn the washer on to fill. If it fills and begins agitation, repair the drain line problem.

GE Natulus will not fill with water

Had the same problem with ours today. That's why I got on here. My dad used a gallon jug to prime it with a gallon of hot tap water. We primed it to get it pumping, and now it is working fine. Just pour the hot water into the dishwasher and start it.

Water problem

Many dishwashers will drain at the beginning of any cycle.
If the water does not fill after the pump-out cycle, then the problem is either the fill valve or the float switch. You should be able to hear the float switch click as you raise or lower it. The fill valve usually hums whenever it has power.
If the fill valve has power but doesn't open, (use a voltmeter) replace the fill valve. If there is no power at the float switch, nor at the fill valve after pumping out, then the clock / timer is at fault.
