I have a canon smartbase mpc 400 never any problems now it says `wrong cartridge` i tried putting in new cartriges but that did not work. what now?

    non of the the cartridges were empty! The were all 3/4 full. I didn´t replaced any in at least 3 weeks, it was working perfectly before! And than just out off the blue it says `wrong cartridge`.....
    i put in new ones but it doesn´t say which
    color was wrong. How long does a printhead go along?

Is it a new cartridge? if it new please insert it right position.Or it is old replace it.Buy new one original.

    It new also it has sufficient ink but it has a internal chip or many connector.may be chip damage.

I guess you are trying to use a compatible cartridge thats not compatible. Try a genuine canon cartridge if you can still get one, to prove if its a machine or cartridge problem.

Canon Smart base MPC 400 Printer

This printer needs these cartridges: -

1. (BCI-3eB) Black Ink Cartridge,
2. (BCI-3eC) Cyan Ink Cartridge
3. (BCI-3eM) Magenta Ink Cartridge
4. (BCI-3eY) Yellow Ink Cartridge

I think you need to clean your cartridge connectors with alchohol and retry.

Cannon printer

It seems there's something wrong with the cartridge connector. Try cleaning with a soft cotton cloth soaked with alchohol or After Shave and check for the ribbon connecting the head for possible damage or cut.

Canon MPC400 Error Wrong Cartridge

I'm not familiar with your particular model... but have you made sure the electrical contacts on both the printer and cartridge are clean (assuming there are such)? Sometimes these contacts get dirty or covered with ink. Try using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol or electrical contact cleaner (Chemtronics Tun-0-Wash or similiar). This may not be your problem, but it is worth a shot.
