non of the the cartridges were empty! The were all 3/4 full. I didn´t replaced any in at least 3 weeks, it was working perfectly before! And than just out off the blue it says `wrong cartridge`..... i put in new ones but it doesn´t say which color was wrong. How long does a printhead go along?non of the the cartridges were empty! I guess you are trying to use a compatible cartridge thats not compatible. Try a genuine canon cartridge if you can still get one, to prove if its a machine or cartridge problem.
It seems there's something wrong with the cartridge connector. Try cleaning with a soft cotton cloth soaked with alchohol or After Shave and check for the ribbon connecting the head for possible damage or cut.
I'm not familiar with your particular model... but have you made sure the electrical contacts on both the printer and cartridge are clean (assuming there are such)? Sometimes these contacts get dirty or covered with ink. Try using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol or electrical contact cleaner (Chemtronics Tun-0-Wash or similiar).
This may not be your problem, but it is worth a shot.
