Question about Tivo Humax® HUM-T2500Digital Video Recorder with

1 Answer

The forums I have been reading seem to indicate that there is no difference other than maufacturer between these two boxes. I have had problems with a previous box and DirecTv sent me a new box. Because of signal problems in activation of the 300, they sent me a 500. It was CS error and the 300 is working, but now I have the option of keeping either the 300 or the 500. Any input as to which box I should keep? Thanks

All recordings gone on my Humax 1100s.

This is a known problem on these models; contact with the disk is lost. If it is still in warranty, contact Humax. If not, replacing capacitors on the mainboard may fix it.

What does code 576p indicate?

576p means 576 lines, progressive scan. 576 is number of visible lines on the UK system (and other nominally 625 line countries). The normal transmission system for these countries is 576i (interlaced scan), so I suspect that you are only seeing the 576p indication because there are no channels, and your TV is interpreting this as progressive scan.

The reason for no channels may be a poor signal from the aerial, or that the device (Humax or TV) has not been tuned. If you have power-saving enabled on the Humax, it will not pass on the aerial signal to the TV when the Humax is in standby. If this is the case, either turn power-saving off, or use a splitter to feed the aerial separately to the TV and Humax.

Both my humax 9150t recorders remote controls stopped working at the same time on each machine. also the machine controls have stopped working

We are all having the same problem. It must be data error sent for TV listings. No idea what to do though. Just wait I guess. Very annoying though.

Can't seem to get broadcat information - when

I beleive that this problem was thrown up after Humax's last update. I have had the same problem, you press that programme you want and then it tells you to wait for broadcast information.
Lovely, then you have to wait about 30 seconds until it appears, talk about a backward step.
I have e-mailed Humax with the problem, if enough people do the same, we may get an update that will solve it.

I have a Humax 9200T 160GB. It freezes after being powered up for 1-2 minutes. I removed the Antenna cable and SCART to TV and it powered successfully for hours. Connecting it back together it freezes...

Removed the aerial cable which enable the unit to operate.
In installation menu selected "Default settings". Once this had completed, I powered down the unit, I added the aerial cable and powered on the unit. Unit then searches for channels and stores them "save" tab. Issue resoved.

Humax digital recorder picture freeze every 10 minutes

Humax are having problems and are starting to send out software upgrades (night-time updates) - seems to be related to the new formats on the MUXs for the digital switch-over. Our 9150T hasn't been fixed yet but due any day (I hope)

Humax Tivo will not record to DVD

After the update to 1.15 I had to delete EVERY recording on the unit. After that, any new recordings would burn just fine. However, some have found that same failure even after a hard reboot (repower). Called Humax level-1 support and they suggested a replacement unit so I swapped it out. But I've since learned that TiVo "pushes" a DVD firmware patch (possible supplied by Humax) from 1.08 to 1.15 and that patch is the culprit. That patch is suppose to make the DVD burn at a higher spin rate. After talking with level-2 Humax support they heard of the problem and said "the unit is working as designed", meaning, the DVD drive manufacturer specs say the drive is capable of a faster burn rate. So now I have Humax DTR800 #2 and so-far-so-good, but TiVo hasn't pushed the patch onto the box yet!
