Question about HP PSC 2210 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I think we just made the problem worse. I had bought a second hand PSC 2210 last summer, that I knew might need some work. Well it just wasn’t working period. You plugged it in and all the lights just flashed. Anyway, I figured it might be good for parts. So we opened it up, as well as my regular one, and changed the carriages. Turns out that the right hand side carriage latch on the spare parts one isn’t in much better shape than my original printer but between the two carriages we managed to scrounge up two working latches and installed them in my regular printer. They went in okay.
But now, the on button will not light up, although you can hear the printer cartridges moving into place (with a bit of a noise though). Evidently the printer is receiving power. I can also see light from the scanner bed when you lift the cover. When I tried to print out, I kept getting a message that there was a print cartridge problem and to try removing and reinserting the right print cartridge which I did several times. I even tried cleaning the cartridge with alcohol and a cutip Then I tried another partially aused HP ink cartridge with no success, then a brand new generic ink cartridge and again, no success. Then I tried reinstalling the print cartridge and it suddenly said the left print cartridge, not even the one it originally had the problem with, was incompatible – but it is an hp cartridge! I cancelled my print request and started again. The error message on my computer has reverted to telling me that there is a print cartridge problem and to try removing and reinserting the right print cartridge.
I think I might need a brand new carriage assembly for my printer, but it occurs to me that somehow, I must have messed up the electrical contacts…. So, where can I get a new carriage assembly and what can I do about the electrical contacts?? Thanks Aleida

Press and hole the power button down while simultaneously plugging in the power cord. Don't release the button until the printer completes its initialization and diagnostic.
