Question about Logitech Z-2200 Computer Speakers

Loud crackling / popping

No matter what PC I plug these into, the speakers producea loud crackling sound which increases with any attempt to turn up the volume. I've now tried these speakers with 4 different PCs and they all produce the same results.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, the crackling is mostly a result from dust and debris building up on the contacts of the volume knob over the years.
You could try taking some compressed air to the space between the knob and the pod.
and
Sometimes with the power off. Rotating the knobs from end to end will also help.

The volume controll need lubrication. I'm not shure how to open the controller box, but that's where your problem are.

Sub Speaker giving intermittent loud crackling and sharp loud popping sounds even with main volume control turned off. Crackling sound can be reduced by turning sub volume control off.

It may be the control itself too. In time, these controls can get dust build up inside it. There are volume control spray cleaners available from Radio Shack or other electronic parts stores. The cheat on cleaning the control is to just rotate it from stop to stop as many times as it takes to clear the noise.

Hi. When switched on the speaker makes a loud constant crackling sound. Nothing will work, no keys, stops, anything. Just a loud crackle!

This usually means that the speaker is blown. Try running through a different setup and see if it fixes the problem. Hope this helps

Popping & hardly any volume

i had the first problem and you can probably fix it by turning the volume knob all the way up and down about 20 times. it worked for me. supposedly the potentiometers in the z-5300 get dirty or worn out, somehow this might fix it. for the second problem maybe try plugging it into the laptop and unplugging it again seeing if it goes back to normal?maybe its a problem with the amp?

Cerwin Vega ve-28s subwoofer and new Cervin Vega 2-way satellites

I bought my VE-28s and it did exactly that crackled, cerwin replaced part in amp but few months later problem persisted. they then replaced entire amp assembly and its been fine. i really push it to and its been fine. to test it, unplug the connection from amp/ reciever and see if it persists. if so its the sub, if not its the amp/ reciever. dont dump it, these subs really crank and can put out some deep loud bass.
