#1. If you have to put downward pressure on the float in order to fill, then float switch is not OK.
#2. It would seem as though your pump impeller is missing some, or all vanes. (Not pumping water out).

#3. It will become even more difficult to find parts as time goes on.
#4. 30 years...It has done it's job. It has paid for the trip, It's time to move on, What else can I say.

My washing machine has started beeping during the wash cycle - why?

Try running the same wash cycle with no clothes in the machine, just the water.
If it does not beep you are overloading it or the load is unbalanced.

Hoshizaki water dont stop runing

float switch is stuck in the "down" position. The unit goes thru a fill cycle and after 1 minute, the board "Looks" at the float swith to "see" if the sump is full. If float is stuck down, it tells the board that the unit does not have enough water and stays in the fill cycle. The compressor will not come on as long as the machine "thinks" there is not enough water. let me know if I can help further

Hotpoint WF860 drum not turning. Belt checked all ok, no error codes it just fills with water and goes through the cycle filling and emptying when it should and the drum stays still. Can someone help?

ours did the same as this........ it needed a new control board after checking everything you have mentioned. it was a couple of years ago and at that time it was a hotpoint part only. but they can be picked up on ebay for around 30-40 quid.

Have same problem with 2 second cycling. I resolder at the point of heater relay. Thought I had solved the problem of running forever on 1. Now have this "new" problem that you have described.

No water getting in. main water line is ok and tested

Test the inlet valve and the water level switch.
The inlet valve can be tested reading continuity on valve solenoid contacts, check also the water level switch actuated by a floating sensor.
If they are ok then the problem is usually the timer control board. Testing this part is more complicate and is done reading voltages.
Always keep your appliance unplugged when you DIY.
Regards.

Dishwasher Won't Take Water

power for your water valve is controlled by the timer and the float switch. You can remove the bottom cover to access the float switch and water valve. They both are on the left side of the unit, float switch is right up front and water valve is on the bottom. Test float switch continuity with ohms( always test ohms with power off!) and check for ac voltage at water valve. You can make a test lead and hook up water valve straight to ac to by-pass timer. If you need any more help let me know. Here is a parts and wiring diagram

Hotpoint aquarious wd 440 two years old tripping main board

A faulty heater in both a washing machine and dishwasher will trip swithes because they both cause an earth........the chances are you heater needs replacing......the reason its tripping after a short period is probably beacause the cycle doesnt start heating the water until after approx 15-20 mins depending on the cycle chosen
