If you connect by using LAN port (RJ 45) you don't have to install driver. However USB connection will require driver. Do you have Ethernet adapter installed to you iMAC? If you have it will be resolved easily without using USB port. Check the following link for connection instructions

If physical connection is successful you can go to internet browser type and check your modem's settings. Please post if you need further assistance

Good Luck

Basically if your Internet service is DSL or cable it's just a plug and play. Just plug the computer to the modem once the Internet access has been activated by your ISP and your computer should automatically get connection from the modem.

Yes you can use the Ethernet port/card in your Pc,
your isp should provide the Modem for you for broadband, connect the computer's Ethernet cable to the broadband cable modem.

Your good to go

Modem connects to Internet, but PC can't

Are you using a firewall? Did you tell the firewall that the browser has permission to access the internet (go beyond the local network of the modem)?

Using both USB and Ethernet port to connect to the Internet

Hi; I have used it with both ethernet and usb connections at the same time. I have never used the bridge, but I use it at home.

Try this ( I have XP SP3): Right-click on the monitors where the clock is (lower right corner), select "Open Network Connections". Go to the LAN connection and r-click "Properties". On the "general" tab select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)". There you select "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server automatically" then click "Ok" until exit. Either Shut Down or Restart the PC. Check if this work.

Bridged Mode

Verify this with your ISP, but if you go into your modem settings, click on "Advanced Setup", click on WAN, when page opens, click "Edit". After clicking "Next", you come to the page labelled, "Connection Type". It is there you select what mode you'd like it to work in. When you are through selecting click NEXT till you get to the page with the SAVE button. Click Save and wait for page with FINISH to come up. Click FINISH and wait for the router to reboot(2 mins). Please write down the previous settings so you'll be able to undo whatever you do.

How to configure paradign modem adsl2 6211-A3-304 in bridge mode for BSNL Dataone Broadband connection

I belive with this modem you will:
1.Access the interface, generally
2. Go to Advanced on the left.
3. Select WAN.
4. Now you may see several rows of info, look for the one that says PPPoE, and then click edit to the far right.
5. Select Next one time.
6. Here select "BRIDIGING".
7. Click next all the way to the end.
8. Reboot, after you clicked save of course.

This is how you bridge 98% of PPPoE providers with a similar paradign modem.

Of course the next device in line will have to provide your username and password for your DSL connection.

Hope this helps!

Paradyne Dsl Modem

Hi, If I understand you right, what you want is to use your Paradyne 6211 modem to share the Internet connection to 2 PCs. One is connected through the USB and the second through Ethernet port. Tried it on a Siemens 4200 and a Prolink Hurricane 9000, both worked and can be done. To be sure, the IP settings of the PC connected via Ethernet was set to manual configuration. In your case try IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS Servers - whatever your ISP are using. You of course can try and see if it works in your modem. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

You would have to refer to the manual to set up the usb connection, so as the router knows that the main pc is connecting via the usb and not the rj45 port. The only other thing may be that your router will recognise when you are connecting with the usb port, as long as it's the pc with the modem drivers on.
