Question about Plantronics 510 Voyager Headset - PLN-510 Headset
I had the same problem..tried to pair it for hours but could not get it to do it till the battery ran out and i had to recharge it..
I later found out that it was not pairing because the batteries were low. If the battery gets below a certain level it will not pair the headset because it's trying to save energy. anyways after a full charge it paired just fine...hope this help you guys....

Had the same problem. tried it numerous times, unsuccessfully. Then turned headset around in my hands so I was using different fingers to press buttons, and it worked fine. So try changing how you are pressing buttons.

My head set will not go into pairing mode, whether I have the device is on or off. The device will turn on and off normally. I am charging the device to see if that helps. Has anyone run into this problem? I need some help with it and I already looked the instructions up online.

I know this is an old posting but i had the same issue and thought I would post my fix. I have owned may PLT510 in the past and bought another last summer. As it turns out, I must have bought a Voyager Pro instead. Looks EXACTLY the same as the PLT 510. To pair it i had to turn it off, then Hold down the power button for about 10 seconds and it went into pairing mode. If your device asks for a code it is 0000. Mine did not ask. Hope this helps someone.

Just thought that I should add what worked for me. My headset refused to pair with my laptop and phone suddenly one day and the only way I got it to enter pairing mode(red and blue led flashing) was to press the call and button while it was on and charging even though it was fully charged.

I wonder if you all are having the same issue I did. I came here for the same reason, I was unable to make my 510 go into pair mode. Here is what "I" was doing wrong. I would press the call button and THEN press the volume up button, thinking that as long as they were held down at the same time for 3 seconds, and it didn't matter if both where pushed at the same time or not. It matters. Both buttons need to be engaged at the same exact time, not one right after the other like I was doing. Good luck!

THE B;UE TOOTH IS SUPPOSED TO BE ON. THEN PRESS THE VOLUME UP BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME THE CALL BUTTON UNTIL THE LIGHT FLASHES RED AND BLUE, THEN YOUR READY TO PAIR

When you're pairing the headset the headset needs to be on first before you can pair it. these instructions are pretty helpful and show you step by step how to pair with pictures:

Pairing mode is supposed to be activated by pressing the Volume Up and Call button simultaneously with the headset off.
I used to be able to get this to work on my headset, but it no longer will. Any solutions beyond getting a new headset?
