Sharp mini components system -- remote speaker hook up

Just bought Sharp mini components system (CD890N), and wondered if remote speakers can be attached (in addition to speakers that came with system).

  • Anonymous Mar 21, 2014

I got the system for free as it had been donated to my schools recording archive department but they didn't need it. Problem is, unless its buried near the other systems where they had it, they don't have the remote. I'd rather not have to unplug this all the time, or leave it on constantly, esp since I'm using it as speakers for my computer.

Also, is there anyway to change the bass or other sound settings without the remote? People are charging $30+ for a replacement remote which is ridiculous imo.

If there are no additional speaker jacks on the back of the receiver, then no; at least, not easily.

What ohm are the speakers?

Hi
I just bought HTSL75 speakers. Its manual saying its volume is controlled by TV's remote control
But i am having Samsung UN46EH6000 LED. and Speakers is connected to LED via RCA and LED is giving fixed output, so all the time, speaker is working on full volume

Is there any workaround, so that i can control volume while using sharp HT-SL75 speakers with Samsung UN46EH6000 ?

Is there any volume control device to control the volume of the speakers in my case ?

Thanks for your help !!

I have actually lost my satellite speakers that came with the Logitech Z-2300. I am wondering what my best option is. I can't seem to find anyplace that sells these kind of speakers separately. I...

Hi

http://www.livedigitally.com/2005/09/05/logitech-z-2300-speaker-system/

It would appear you need 2 x 1/4 inch (3.5mm) jack to RCA cables, one for each channel and each speaker, left and right, rather than just the 1 cable ("..and a mini to RCA cord...") you seem to have bought.

The Yellow and Black RCA ports appear to be the Left and Right speaker channels respectively.

The output cable with a green jack that connects to the green jack on the computer's sound card seems to be tied in with the wired Remote Control.

I would have recommended getting a pair of passive 40W RMS Logitech Stereo Speakers.

As long as the speakers you have match in terms of Wattage and Impedance, you should be okay.

I hope this helps.

I HAVE AN XLMP60 SHARP SYSTEM, ITS IN PROTECT MODE, WHAT CAN I DO?

Hi

If the unit is going into a protect mode, the first thing to do is test the unit with no speakers connected, if it still goes into protect this means that Dc is being detected on the output stage, usually meaning that there is a short circuit on the output stage, therefore the unit needs to be repaired, if it tests find without any speakers connected then either the speaker/s are short circuit or the speaker wiring is short circuit either positive to negitive or positive down to earth, i.e frayed copper wire touching the units casing.

I replaced my mini component stereo (360 watt) speakers with new speakers that apparently can handle up to 600 watts. If the volume is too high on the receiver, the power cuts out. I think this is because...

probably you are right due to high impedance of the speaker the receiver cant handle it, the mini component can handle 80 to 100 watts only. you need a high watts amplifier to used your 360 watts speaker, just connect it to the audio output of the mini component. thanks
