Question about SuperMicro SP352-TP Triple Redundant Power Supply Module (PWS-0026) (PWS0026B) 350-Watt Power Supply

Open Question

SP352-TP power supply won't start

I have 2 TP352-TP s which won't start. The red LED is blinking only. The fault is in the ps. I tried running them only with a power connector, but i think there's any remote signal necessary to turn it on. So I'm actually looking for a disription for the big connector or maybe a schematics for the whole power supply repairing it.
For specialist only: When it's open and i connect the 12Vcc from the TOP223 to the PMW-IC 3844 it runs without any problems. I don't know which devices are connected between these points, maybe it's simply a resistor or so or any transistor what is switched by an extern remote control. Idk.
So if you have any ideas or hints, please let me know. I mailed to but without any sucess, no support from there. That's poor.
Btw, do you need any support for power supplies or any service? Don't hesitate and mail me:

the problem is in your motherboard..this most cause unregulated flow of power from the source electric..but if the green led is off so its the processor.try to test it with a motherboard tester..or get another board that same spec with the you have, and transfer the processsor if it is working

How can you tell if a Dell power supply for a PowerEdge 2900 is good? Should the lights at least indicate when power is connected even with the PS is removed from the machine? How do you best determine if...

You cannot test the power supply on the bench just by connecting it to the mains power. You need to know which pins on the connector to activate the power supply and you need to connect a load to the power leads.
The best way to test the power supply is to leave the power unit connected to the computer power up the computer and test a spare 4 wire power connector with a multi-meter. Leave the other power leads connected to the various drivers.
If computer's power LED should light up then test the voltages.
The Red and black wire should read 5 volts.
The Yellow and black wire should read 12 volts.
If the power LED does not light up, check the mains lead in another appliance to see if the mains lead is OK.
If the mains lead is OK then most likely the switch mode power supply has died.

Trying to find wich two or more wires from wiring harness turn on power supply for a compaq presario 7594

In ATX PC power supplies, here is the wiring scheme:

Green: PS-ON (+5V)
Gray: PWR OK (+5V)
Purple: +5VSB
Blue: -12V
White: -5V
Orange: +3.3V
Red: +5V
Yellow: +12V
Black: Ground (AKA Common)

Use a paper clip to connect the GREEN wire and a BLACK wire. There should be a black one right next to the green. This is how I test PSUs before and after I repair them. Now it should be running, assuming there are no internal problems.

You can also connect the GRAY to ground with an LED. Not necessary, but I like to do it ;)

Most computer testing facilities will test your current power supply for free. A replacement is very inexpensive to replace. Bestbuy, MicroCenter, small computer shops and buy replacement from, Just make sure you have the correct information for your replacement. The model number on the power supply would be your best bet in most cases. Good luck and have a great day. I buy power supplies as low as $15 dollars Generic

Power supply has several voltages. Just because the 5v power is active doesn't mean all the voltages are OK. You need to have the power supply tested for 12v and 3.3v. A quick test is to unplug all the wires from the power supply. There is a single green wire on the motherboard main plug. Connect (use a bent paper clip) that green switch wire and any black wire. Plug in the power supply and it should run (fan starts)

Computer Won't Power Up

If the blinking amber LED is on the computer itself and not the monitor, this is most likely a power supply issue. First thing to try would be replace the power supply. If the blinking led is on the monitor, it probably has bad capacitors and needs to be replaced. (or repaired)
