Just to clarify. the dcm425 it's a modem , it's not a router, your modem manual is here
usually your modem it's not the one that gets the ip address but your network card, this can be found by:
1. go to start>run> and type 'cmd' in the box without the quotations and hit enter
2. a dos type of box will open up. just type 'ipconfig /all' without the quotations and press enter.
3. look into the info and search for a line that says "ip address:
..." the number that appear right after is your network card's ip address (your pc ip address).
another way to find your ip address is by going to to websites like this one that address is your public address.
now if you do have a router and want to know your router's ip:
it may vary but it's usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
or
assuming you are currently already using a working router to go online there is a simple way to find out what your router's ip address is
1. go to start>run> and type 'cmd' in the box without the quotations and hit enter 2. a dos type of box will open up. just type 'ipconfig /all' without the quotations and press enter. 3. look into the info and search for a line that says "default gateway: ..." the number that appear right after is your router's ip.
Default is http://192.168.1.1, but you can check by ip gateway (modem adress), on your computer.
check your local network connection:
if your modem is directly connect your computer, by usb or LAN the gateway adress is the same, you can test if go to the webrowser and type the same adress as before.

Connect the machine to a router or a switch with a network cable.
In used mode, under network settings - set the machine to DHCP, so it will get an IP adress from the switch/router.
Print out a network status page, and see if you've got an IP adress.
In the command window on your PC type: ipconfig/all and see the IP adress of your computer. Compare it to the adress the machine got from the router/switch and see if they are almost identical apart from the last digits.
Install the driver, and install the printer using device name, and you should be good to go. Or you can set the IP you got from the switch/router as a static adress, and install the copier using the IP adress.
There are several web site that can test ALL the port of your system for you
i Generally use
Shields-UP
https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
on the first page clic on PROCEED button
in the next page in the middle clic on
ALL SERVICE PORTS
it will indicate your IP adress and begin testing all the ports of your computer
first click start in the computer then click run then type CMD then the dos modebox will be seen then type ipconfig then you will see ip adress of the network to which you are connected then type ping the ip address if the pinging is ok then your laptop is comunication with the router if no pininging or ip adress right click my computer then click properties then hardware then device manager and check wether the network adaptor is marked if marked reinstall the driver and restart the computer
there is no internet connectivity
check your router ip adress
check the computer ip adress is same range of router ip
if not,, please assign same range of router ip manually
you need to open a incoming port for the ps3 on your router all you have to do is use the computer to go to your router settings then use whatever ip the ps3 is using and open a port for that ip address that should work but i dont have a ps3 so i dont know you could try that
Also check the WEP key as it may say the AP (access point) isn't there if the WEP is wrong.
Also some routers won't connect properly to the DS unless the IP,Gateway, and DNS are set manually.
If you choose to set the AP info manualy then you need to find the you AP's IP address. Commonly this would be 192.168.1.1 however it varies from one brand to another or may be changed manualy. Try these settins with the corrected IP adress number as the gateway.
IP Adress 192.168.1.152 (this is you'r DS IP adress. The 3rd digit should be the same as you gatway's 3rd digit. The fourth digit can be any number that isn't used on your network.
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
DNS Pri 192.168.1.1 DNS Sec 192.168.1.0 (Usually I set the Gateway and DNS numbers the same and it usually works. The Gateway is the IP address of your wifi router.)
If this fails and all numbers are correct, then it may be that the WiFi router will not work with the DS as some brands simply refuse to work with it for unkown reasons.
Anohter solution is to get a WiFi USB dongle and connect to that.
If your laptop has a wireless card built in - or external, you will be able to get the wireless signal. You need to open your wireless dialog - Start > My Network Places > View Network Places
For Router drivers is not required ,U can configure though the command prompt
I can tell some configuration try it,
the default ip adress of the router will the 192.168.1.1 OR 192.168.0.1
In your Lan card configure,
1. obtain Ip adress automitically
go to command prompt----type ---ipconfig---check the ip address which ip is getting---
go to internet explorer ----type the ip address in adress bar-----------login page will get---
login as, user name admin
password admin------configure your internetip adress & DNS ip address, save & check.............
