Question about Intel D865PERL Motherboard

1 Answer

Installing 2 Ethernet Cards

I have tried to installed to ethernet card with my D865PERL. The first was CNET PRO200WL PCI Fast Ethernet and the other one is D-Link DFE-528TX 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Adapter, after installing the both together with its drivers, i can boot on windows but after a while it hangs. I tried to restart it but it's still the same. When i tried to uninstall the D-link my system does not have problem. Is their anything that i should configure with its BIOS so that i can use two ethernet cards?

you will have to open up your network connections

click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark ! ? you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled

Adding a PCI ethernet card?

One port on the router is an "Ethernet" port -- look closely to see the 8 wires in the socket.

You'll need a similar 8-wire connector on your computer,
and an "Ethernet-cable" that has 8 strands of wire.

Adding-in the PCI Ethernet card will add an 8-wire connector,
so that the Ethernet-cable can be connected.

Be sure to buy a 'PCI' Ethernet adapter, not 'PCI-E', and not 'ISA'.
It may come with a CD-ROM containing software to be installed.

Don't pay more than $20. Or, find a "computer-geek" -- he/she probably will have one or more "spare" PCI Ethernet cards to give to you.

One of two 3com pci gigabit ethernet cards is not working

If you have the driver disk that was distributed with the card , try reinstalling the card drivers first.

If the card is faulty, buy a new pci ethernet adapter and replace it, inserting the ethernet adapter into the pci slot.

After installing install drivers for the new card with the disk that will come with the card.

Ensure that you are logged in as administrator when you reinstall the drivers.
