Question about Sony VAIO VGN-AR230G Notebook

2 Answers

Blue screen Hi, our notebook suddenly got a blue screen (of death) and thought it might have something do with RAM, so replaced that, but still getting blue screen. Won't boot up except in Safe Mode. Need help fast as this houses important information for school. Keeps dumping memory. Don't know if this is the video ram or what? And if so, and I have to replace video ram, would I have to replace the mother board too?

Re: blue screen

There could be a number of problems here...

1.) corruption of data on the hard disk
2.) bad driver

Short and fastest way would be to engage "safe modem with networking" and get your data off to say another computer and reformat that one.

If it's only booting up in safe mode there's a much larger and could me more complex than just hardware.

had the computer recieved any updates recently? that could be it as well.
