Question about RCA OPAL M4001 MP3 Player

Format My M4008 Opal as a "boot error please format unit" . How do I format my mp3 player? I went throught step to open devices system and it did not work. Thanks, Dan

Since you are getting a boot error formatting the device will not solve the will need to get the firmware upgrade...

Before formatting back up the data from the player to your computer.

After performing format you'll need the Firmware Utility to put new
firmware on the player again:
1. Save the execute file Firmware Utility to your computer.
2. Run the execute file by clicking.

your boot file is corrupt so it wont boot u will need to use a computer to format it. plug the mp3 player into ur computer go to my computer right click the mp3 player and select format. Format will wipe everything off ur mp3 player

Try using this it worked for my m4002a. It's the firmware update software.

After downloading that just follow the instructions that pop-up with the program.

Mine wouldn't do anything before i tried this and afterwards it's been working without a problem.

In Windows XP, rt click my computer. Scroll down to manage and click. Find disk management on the left and click. Your player should show up as a disk drive and you should be able to formt it here.
