Question about Flat Panel Televisions

Open Question

Blue/purple ghost-like picture

I have a Symphonic WF15L5 LCD TV. The picture is blue/purple and the people look ghost-like. Printed words (title of movie, credits, etc.) are ok. The picture looks sorta like an x-ray picture. Picture adjustment on the menu does not make a difference. Do you know what caused this? Will it be expensive to repair? Thanks for any assistance/advice you can give.

SOURCE: Blue ghost image in middle of the tv

I am going through the same thing( only my cloud is red)generally a crappy picture and all hued in red and pink After waiting on the Sears Service tech for a week and a half, showed up this morning and said: " Yep, another Light Engine " He did something in the service menu: "memory reset" to make the TV somewhat watchable while the LE is on order. He was going to order the same(defective) light engine until I gave him the Upgraded Part number from Hitachi: UX22202DR for the 50V500. My tech seems very knowledgable and agreed right away to order the correct part and schedule me for service( He said he has done numerous light engine replacements on this model and it takes him about 2 hours to do this in my home. I am really glad I have a extended warranty as this repair would have cost well over $800. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Hitachi P42H401 - No Picture or Sound. Some Menus work.

There is a power button on the front and a "main" power button underneath the front panel. Pushing the main power button should reset it.

SOURCE: Color of people's faces in movies played via DVD is now blue since connected to LCD TV

The reason the picture is blue on the DVD is because you have poor video cables running the feed, probably RCA yellow cable im guessing. Get some nice component cables for the DVD feed and it will fix you right up.

SOURCE: there is no red in the picture

you might have it in component cables in the rear and one of them is not all the way in. sometimes these cables are a bit hard and may think that its all the way in and its not. check it out.

Its a backlight problem. Common with this model. Under warranty? If not, then its a service shop repair.

first place to begin is if able test voltages in and out of the power board inside the set---if not able to do that consider having a shop look at it.

This is not a tuner problem . The blue color is missing and the cause is the main board if you are handy with tools you could find the part#

Blue screen: Not Support!

It sounds like you have no signal being detected by the TV. Check your connections to the TV from your cable box or satelite reciever to be sure they're plugged in tightly. If you have a DVD player or VCR, try watching something from one of them to see if you get a picture. If you do, then your problem may be with your cable box or satelite reciever, and not the TV.
Good luck.

What kind of connections are you using?

If component (red, green, blue) double check to make sure they are seated properly. I'm thinking it sounds like the blue one got loose.
