There is a corkscrew that opens and closes the face plate, it will get worn down since it made out of plastic, when it wheres down, only have of the screw will have threads, the have of the screw that has threads will let you take the cd in and out, but in order to get the whole face down it needs to use the whold corkscrew, the corkscrew is located on top of the unit, only visible after the top cover is taking off, you'll see it on the right side of the unit, you can try to order one from www.dualav.com, its such an easy fix

Just installed an XDM7615 Dual stereo and the face plate won't detach. Can anyone help? The manual says there is a button behind the face when it's in the 'eject' position but pushing this button does...

There are 2 very small screws on the back of the face plate that need to be removed. Once these are removed, you may then remove the face plate.

Who do i take off my face on my dual xd7500

when the radio face is open like it is in the picture above... take a look /feel directly underneath (back side of the lower controls)the large center knob. you are going to feel a push button about an inch wide. push while pulling down and toward you to remove. the until will then close on it own. reattach by clipping directly on once unit has closed

I'm assuming that you installed the head-unit new and that the faceplate did (at one time) previously slide down the way it was intended to work - is this assumption correct?

Is the molding around the head faceplate (mounting ring) damaged?

Are you sure you're not using the semi-permanent mounting configuration??
(see page 6 of the manual)

This particular unit has the option for a semi-permanent mounting of the face plate. If the two screws are inserted into the sides, it will lock the face plate in to the head unit (have you done that?) - if so, removing the screws will allow the face plate to be removed.

DUAL XD7500 CD PLAYER PROBLEM

This is what the manual says:
With the unit off, press OPEN to allow the front panel to slide
down. Gently squeeze the release tab located on the bottom
center underside and pull faceplate down and away from unit
to remove. To install, insert left side faceplate first, then push
right side to secure.

Tried it and couldn't get it out.

Sounds like the flexible connector that connects to the drop-down front panel is bad, broken pattern lead.

Flip Down faceplate is stuck.

I have the same problem, and all my problem was is that one of the wheels were out of place. You can see these white gears at the bottom left and right. Just stick something in there and push it back in place. It should just snap back in.
