Hi, I have a 510 and am sure that this is the same problem I had. You need to reset the Tom Tom. You can do this by looking into the base of the unit where you would mount it for the window attachment and recharger. Just inside the edge to the left where it connects you will see a small black hole. You will need a paper clip or something like that and push it into the hole. You will feel a slight 'click' when you have got it right. This will reset the Tom Tom. This will not remove any settings/saved destinations you may have had. I have had to do this on a a few occasions and have had no problems with continued use. Hope you have success.

Custom Content Issues on Fiat TomTom Blue&Me 2

It can be done but its not easy.
1. Borrow a tomtom off a friend that has an older version that connects upto tomtom HOME and not My Drive connect.
2.Make a copy of the contents of that device onto the desktop of your pc. (*create a folder and call it tomtom)
3. Now on the copy, your done with the borrowed unit. Open the map folder and add the 'car' images you want into the 'brand' folder. If it doesnt exist create one in the map folder naming it 'brand'
4. Now copy everything onto a SD card
5. Go onto tomtom website and download 'tomtom content transfer assistant' and install
6. Connect your newer device to the pc and run the connect assistant.
7. Plug in the sd card when asked (connect old device)

It will then copy start up, shut down images, brand folder over to the new unit.

This should allow what ever you put in the brand folder to be displayed.

Tom tom goes off when ignition is turned on.....could it be an earth problem in the car.it works fine when the ignition is off

When the ignition is off its likely its drawing power from the tomtom battery - with the ignition on it may be getting a small amount of voltage from the car cigarette lighter to make it run from there, but not enough to power it properly.
I'd suggest replacing/seeing if you can borrow one of the car charger leads to see if that makes any difference. If not it may be in an issue with your cigarette lighter output in the car which can be checked by your local autoshop.
Hope this helps.

My gps tom tom turns itself on waht could be

If you search for "TomTom turns itself on", you will find that there appears to be a problem which TomTom will not acknowledge. Mine always turns itself back on exactly (to the minute) one week after being switched off and runs the battery down. Tomtom have got me to reformat and had it back for repair but the problem remains

When driving with my tomtom turns its self off

I had the same issue and it was a defective power cable. Try to borrow one and if that fixes it, bingo. If not, it is an internal issue and must be sent back for service.

Blinking white blank display after turning on

Try resetting your tomtom by inserting a paper clip through the reset hole found underneath. One quick press is all thats needed. Charge the tomtom first now and then switch on after its had a good charge.
If this doesnt work , please reply again and i'll try and help further.

Good luck

Switch on problem

Reset the unit by pushing a bent paperclip or pin into the hole on the bottom marked 'reset' turn it back on, plug it in & charge it via USB overnight or as long as you can in the car, make sure the led on the top is green, tap the bottom right of the screen & check the battery symbol on the unit says charging underneath.

If this doesn't help.
contact them about the problem...
