Kenmore Dryer 90 Series will start but suddenly stop...
Good Evening,
We were just given a Kenmore electric dryer 90 series - it will start but suddenly stop and we have to wait a minute before it will start again.
Help :-)
Thank you will_e_b. My husband rewired the cord and now it works like a dream. The previous owners damaged the cord and thought they replaced it correctly, luckily my husband figured it out.
Again, thank you for your help

What starts and stops? the entire dryer or maybe the drum? Do you do anything to make it restart other than pushing the start button? This initially sounds like a temperature switch is opening and resetting after it cools. If you can describe the problem a little more in detail it would help.

Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.

http://www.washerwizzards.com ,,,,check the thermofuse in the back,,it is a white fuse coverd in plastic with 2 wires attached ,,,,hook the 2 wires together and test it
1st check the breakers
2nd check wiring in back to see connections are secure.
3rd check element. It would be burned in two.
4th check thermal overload switch which is located underneath top of dryer. Easy to remove top. Probably 4-6 screws.
Hello , Sounds like your motor is over heating , it will run until the sensor shuts it down from getting to hot , it is most likley because the motor is covered in lint and needs cleaned. Hope that helps.
