The disk may be damaged. If so, you can call Vivitar customer service, they will send you another disk with no issues.
Also your camera can not be connected to the computer while you install the software.

SOURCE: Free Download for Vivitar Experience Image Manager

Hello,

Could not find a download for you on their website.

You know you can download your pictures manually without the image manager. From the manual:

1. Use the USB cable that came with your camera to connect your camera to your computer.
2. A window appears with a list of options, select Open folder to view files and click OK.
3. Open the DCIM folder and the folder inside to view the media files.
4. Select the media and copy the files from this folder into your computer. Optionally, select the files and choose Copy from the Edit menu. Then select a folder and choose Paste from the Edit menu.
5. We recommend that you copy the images into the Pictures/My Pictures folder and the videos into the Videos/My Videos folder.
6. Do not disconnect the cable during transfer. Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their way to your computer.

If you still want to try to get the Image Manager software, I would suggest contacting Vivitar support at:

[email protected]

OR

In the US: 1-800-592-9541

In the UK: 0-800-917-4831

In case you do not have a manual, here is a link:

Thanks for using Fixya.

Happy New Year!

I got a vivitar camera but i can't use the vivitar experience image manager cd because my laptop does not take cds. Is there another way to access vivitar experience image manager

You don't need the Vivitar software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Picasa also gives you superior photo editing capabilities than the Vivitar software and will work with photos from any digital camera.

How do you download the pictures to your computer? If i have a Vivitar Vivicam 25

Unfortunately, the program that came with your camera is called the "Vivitar Experience Image Manager", and that program does not allow download to your computer - at least not directly. It's frustrating to have a storage application that will not allow transfer to your image folder on your computer. The only way I have found to save the images to the computer is to e-mail them to myself using the Vivitar Experience Image Manager e-mail feature (Hotmail or Gmail) or to post them to Facebook or other sharing website and download them from that site onto your hard-drive. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

You could open the cd on a friend's computer and copy the contents to a thumb drive which you could then insert into your netbook.
