Eiki LC-xnb4m computer connection issue

I just purchased this unit and cannot get it to recognize my computer. If I attach the 15 pin connector / DVI-I, it makes my compuer screen go black, and navigating into the menu on the projector shows no signal. When I attach a s-video cable or the USB 2 cable there is no change at all, and the signal is still not acknowledged.

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop, very new. I plugged in the Eiki LC XNB3 and the computer screen was projected for a few seconds then stopped and now I can't get it to project my computer at all.

I actually fixed it myself--I found another site that said for Dell systems, you need to hold down the Fn button (bottom left) and push F8 and then it recognizes the projector. Solved the problem immediately!

Sometimes you have to change resolutions on the computer display to a lower resolution for the projector to recognize it. try 800x600 first and then make sure your inputs are activated in the menu. sometimes this can be a problem. but most projectors auto recognize when something is plugged in. Let me know if this helps you. Thanks Jay

In few minutes after turn on the projector (Eiki Lc-xnb4m) , it shut off automaticlly. and i connect notebook with the projector ,no any reaction. i don't know how to operate it?

are any of the leds flashing? could be overheating. blow out the dust with canned air. if the lamp is old, it could be that it needs to be replaced. if the fans go out immediately as well, it could be the power supply.

My eiki LC-xnb4m will power on but shuts off after about 60 seconds. It doesn't shut off just drops the input signal (audio and video) and the fan kicks on heavy for a few minutes. Then...

may be overheating. blow out the projector with canned air. the dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. also check the lamp for bulges and dark spots. if you have any of those, replace the lamp. if the lamp is new, check the colorwheel for a high-pitched whir. if you don't hear it, replace the colorwheel. otherwise, replace the ballast.

The projector switching off after 30 seconds

check the following :
1.does the lamp glow u get the connected image
3.if yes does the screen show temperature or overheat
4.if yes then one of the cooling fans do not work properly & hence the unit turns to standby & goes into protection
if no 1 does not happen, then check the lamp physically,it should not show melted or breakage.
if the lamp seems ok, then the ballast is defective!

How to connect my Sharp LC-26DA5U to my computer as a monitor

There are two possible problems: 1. You are connecting a 15-pin (on the laptop) to the 9-pin (on the TV) connection. This isn't the video-in connection for the TV. The TV has a DB-15 connection near its DVI input connector. You should be using a 15-pin to 15-pin cable. The DB-9 connector on the TV is a serial port for servicing the TV. 2. You aren't enabling the external video port for the laptop. Try hitting Fn+F5 on the laptop to cycle between the three display modes: laptop only, laptop + TV, TV only. Make sure to wait a few seconds after hitting Fn+F5 to let the displays sync up.
