Question about CyberPower 1350VA UPS w AVR & LCD (CP1350AVRLCD) UPS System

1 Answer

UPS Failure My UPS up and died today, no warning, running on wall-power, just *blink* and my system was off. After unplugging everything from the UPS, I turned it back on. It starts up normally except the fan does not turn on (as it usually does for a second). After about a minute, the LCD goes dark as it normally would (except the backlight stays on) and *beep* *beep* *click* when the LCD blinks which repeats indefinitely. I tried another wall socket and the same thing happens. Inside the UPS, the transformer core is rusted on one corner and popped open (sorry, pathetic camera phone): Perhaps a spark occurred here. Thank you for any assistance you can provide

I doubt it's just a fan failure. It doesn't normally run the fan while on grid power so it shouldn't be simply overheating.

The computer works fine (thankfully). I am currently running off of a simple surge protector now.

The fan I was referring to is a tiny 20mm fan inside the power supply.

It's possible I confused you by referring to the LCD. The UPS I am using has a small LCD on the front of it to give load information and such.

Thank you for the suggestion but I am interested in repairing my $200 UPS at the moment. A surge protector will not see me through a storm without downtime nor cleanly shutdown, risking software as well as hard drive complications.

I forgot to look clearly at the fan connector but I believe it was soldered on. I could desolder it and then check or replace it. I'd love it if it were the fan, it would save me from having to ship this unit back to CyberPower.

However, I'm looking for possible other problems. The appearance of the transformer bothers me as it suggests an arc occurred. However, no PCB or anything was blackened (which was one thing I was looking for opening it).

I removed the battery from mother board and the ups fan start working.

After a few seconds the monitor give the folowing:

cpu fan failure system shut off in 5 seconds.

I have a Tripp Lite G1010USB uninterruptible power supply that only powers the surge surge-suppressor outlets and not the battery-backup outlets. Unless the UPS is unplugged from the wall, and then i

You know they have a TWO YEAR Warranty ?

Sounds to me that it is faulty (one of the relays or switches is not providing 'through' power to the supposed 'backup' socket when the AC power is on.).

Have you followed the manual ?
available here

Have you done a 'self test' ?
'To Run a Self-Test: With your UPS plugged in and turned on, press and hold the MUTE/TEST button for two seconds. Continue holding the button until the alarm beeps several times and the UPS performs a self-test. See "Results of a Self-Test" below.
Note: You can leave connected equipment on during a self-test.' see manual

If the LCD does not give you the answer then it is faulty. Seems like something went faulty on restarting your UPS in the morning.

Seems like plenty of help available from this companys' website.

Battery b/u squeals after unplugging everything from it and have also uplugged the unit from the wall

Hi Robert,

The UPS will beep/squeal if the power isn't turned off to it before it is unplugged from the wall. But the other thing that may be causing the noise is a bad battery. Replacement battery price is $26.00.

Not Working During Power Outage

Bad battery in the UPS. To test unplug all equipment. Check outgoing power with voltage meter. Should read around 115vAC. Then unplug from the wall outlet. Check voltage again. If no voltage is present its a bad battery.

Yesterday and today one of our Smart-UPS 1400 powered off and 2 of our servers along with it. What would cause this?

may be power to the UPS went off or was not within permissible limits, hence the ups run on batteries until they were completely discharged, the servers went off because they are supplied by this ups. check the power supply to this ups, somebody could be switching it off accidentally. try to sitch the inpu power to the ups to see whether the batteries are okey

Battery light blinking red during charging

Dell or Panasonic? Your post has both listed.

If the blinking light on a Dell is yellow or amber or orange (somewhere in that color range) and continues to blink the entire time it is plugged into AC power (wall outlet) and when you unplug it from the wall the laptop immediately dies .... then you battery is dead and needs replaced.

If the blinking light stops after a while (perhaps a minute?) and then turns green while plugged into AC power, then it is successfully charging - or so it thinks.

When you unplug it from the wall, does it stay up and running?
If it runs, it's OK - just ignore the light and plan on getting a new battery one day, start browsing now. :)
If it dies immediately upon unplugging, then your battery is dead and needs replaced.

CyberPower 525SL Failure

The erratic behavior and beeping could indicate that the Gel battery inside your UPS needs to be replaced, and is usually less expensive to replace than the entire UPS. You can remove the battery and contact a local or online source for a replacement. I replace mine through a local automotive battery supplier, and it' never cost me more than $20.00.

IBM OP500 Uninterruptable Power Supply that is the link to the manual you need. It sounds like your UPS is not turned on correctly. You must press and hold the on switch. Make sure the AC sign wave is lit solid not blinking, the battery should not be lit as well. If the battery is yellow, that means you are running on battery, if it is red that means the battery is low.
