My Wii is connected to a rear-projection tv through Wii-approved component connnectors. The screen began temporarily blacking out while playing the target shooting game on Wii Play. It's not freezing; the picture just blacks out for a couple of seconds but play continues during the blackout. This does not happen with any of the other games. Suggestions?

The
Wii is not a HD output source. It only displays 480p. If you wish to
connect an HD source, you must connect through an HDMI cable or a
component Cable. HDMI is better.

You need to go into your menu and go to close caption and turn off the text screen that some how got turn on, that big black box is call a text screen, and you are not the first person that this has happen too, Take care.
Look at the inputs panel to your TV. If it has an extra composite input (red, yellow, white), you will be able to use the Wii right out of the box.
If it has component inputs (red, blue, green), it will work at a higher resolution (480p vs. 480i), but you will need to purchase a component video cable for Wii. A regular component video cable will not work.
hello ,Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp,
PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code
means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components
in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.
mmm try this.... do u guys have the yellow white red cables hooked up to the front of the tv from the wii console? try loosening them up. worked for me. let's see how long it lasts .... !!!!
Playing video games on projection TV's is a very bad idea. It can cause damage to the picture tubes ("pattern burn"). Most projection TV manuals and video game manuals specifically mention you should not do this. Your husband is right.
