Question about HP Photosmart 2710 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Card reader I accidentally dropped my card into the wrong card reader slot. I put it in the largest slot and it fell somewhere. I can't see it, but is there some way to access it? We have tried shaking it and turning it upside down but don't see it. I think it has fallen and jammed somewhere. Would it be hard to get into the card reader area? Thanks for any advice. Connie

Re: card reader

Look under the rubber feet on the bottom and there should be 4 screws under there, but when you take it apart wear surgical gloves as the static off your hands will damage it.

I put in new ink cartidges and a coil fell out and now it says i have an obstruction

If you are physically able and willing, carefully lift your printer upside down so that the coil that accidentally fell into the printer will freely fall out of it.

I put a memory card in the slot and i don't know

The memory card first may have needed a adapter before inserting into the memory card reader. if you can't get a grip on the memory card, you might have to use tweezers.

Card reader not working?!

Have you tried another memory card?

Some devices can read SD but not SDHC. If your memory card is 1 or 2 gig, it's SD, if it's larger, it's SDHC which is not backwards compatible with SD.

Based on the age of the PSC 1350, I would bet it's a SD-only device.

Trying to import pics from Canon SD1100 via HP PSC 2175 printer

Do you have access to another card to try in the printer to see if it works, this would help isolate whether it is actually your card or the reader?
Can you connect your camera directly to your PC via a usb cable to upload directly to your PC? Or do you have a card reader on your PC that you can try the card in? If not, you can buy a USB to SD adapter for about $15, so you may try that.
It could be that the card somehow became damaged, and may be unusable.
Those are a few options you can try anyway.
good Luck ;)

Good chance something is wrong with the tray, are you able to print of you place paper in the multi-purpose tray (tray 1)?

If so, one thing that may be your problem in tray 2 is here:

Cannot insert Kodak 2GB SD Card into slot on HP 5280

First of all we will have to check the slot size.If the slot is for mmc then you will have to use an adaptor.MMC slot is big in size and sd to MMC converters are available.
Don,t try to insert the card forcefully it may damage the reader's pins.

Xd card wont fit into pixma mp610 needs adapter cant get one anywhere

You can use a USB multiple card reader to see your xd card instead of using your printer slot

Just plug the card reader to your USB port of your computer.
Then select the pic in your computer and print.

You can get one here at very reasonable price (4.55)

Strip encoder 7410 hp all in one printer

Not sure about the smoking replace the encoder strip will require fairly extensive disassembly. There are no repair manuals available for any of HP's Inkjet machines because all repairs or replacements are depot repairs (u send them in). We service all of their machines. We have an extensive used part inventory where we are able to fix most all of their inkjet line. If you were to bring this machine in to our shop, the repair would cost you $65 if its only replacing the encoder strip.
