I am using 5450 and it gives me voltage mismatch error and does not boot up, goes straight to BIOS. Is your board revised version with R in the end or pre revision. Could you please help me resolving this error?

I am also having problem on this. so I am using 5420 CPU and S5000XVNSASR board. Just power up, not video. So, the solution is to use an old cpu first to flash the bois first before using the new processor? Really appreciate the help firstname.lastname@example.org

If you are using a penryn Xeon, that is a 52xx or a 54xx series CPU, your motherboard must have an R suffix, eg S5000XVNSATAR, or S5000XVNSASR. Motherboards without the R suffix are incompatible with the new penryn xeons.
Hope this helps,
