Question about Nikon Coolpix 4600 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Tech support I'm trying to fix my Coolpix 4600 camera. It was taking a few moments to snap a picture so someone tried to fix it for me. It now has a hand flashing on the screen. Ever since then, all of me pictures are coming out very blurry. How do I reset my camera or get that blinking hand off the screen?

Re: tech support

Hi, there is a very easy soln. to your problem.
When the camera is in shooting mode, just click the multi-selector( the round thing surrounding the OK key). the flash menu will be displayed in the screen. Either choose the auto flash(no.1) or anytimeflash(no.4) mode. the blinking hand will be gone and you will once again have superb photos. relax and enjoy.

I took the memory card out of my coolpix 4600 and put it into a vivitar camera when i inserted the memory card back into my coolpix cannot get the camera to work or turn off

Did you take pictures with the vivitar camera and saved it on the same memory card? If so, that might be the problem. Delete those files taken by vivitar (copy them to your computer if it is important before deleting) then try the memory card again on your coolpix.

Nikon coolpix 4600: How to transfer pictures from camera to card?

ok I figured out how to do it! put the memory card into the camera, then go to view the pictures. Then press the menu button and scroll until you see the copy button. Then you will see the option to copy from camera to card, or card to camera. Press the option to copy from camera to card and press select all....(or whichever pictures you want copied...I wanted all pictures copied). Then voila! it takes a few seconds to copy from the camera to the card, and there you have it! :)

I can't hear any sound off my camera videos

The Nikon Coolpix 4600 does not record any audio with the video.
This is surprising and not very useful.

The Coolpix 5600 does and the 4600 uses the same body, that is why it has microphone holes on the top.

Well a few years ago I purchased a Nikon Coolpix 4600 4MP Digital Camera and everytime I try to take a picture the AF light flashes red. Why is that?

Hello Winniethe383,
AF stands for "Auto Focus", When you are clicking a snap, the camera is trying to bring the subject into focus and the Red light blinking is to show the status that the camera is busy Focusing.
Please let me know in case you need any further details and I would be glad to assist you further :)

Problems taking pictures

Typically when that happens your auto focus sensor has become dirty and it takes longer to focus on your subjects. Make sure both your lens and AF sensor are completely clean. Use a soft high thread count cotton cloth to wipe them clean.

Camera On/Off Button won't work

hello Dora, I suggest u not to open the camera yourself because there is a plastic moulded circuit with on/off and snap switch, if it got damaged, it should be replaced with new one. So that it is better to go repair shop, better to go Nikon shop.
