Question about Optoma MovieTime DV10 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

No access to half of menu

Brand new Optoma 1651 projector won't recognize PC with VGA connection. Can only access Setup & Options on the menu so I can't verify is VGA is switched on. Not my first projector, tried varies startup sequences, know about screen switch. So desparate I read entire manual.

Dry solder joints or bad input placement. Try jiggling the vga port on the projector or use a different projector

You have three option to view projection screen on your PC SCREEN:
1. Use "Y" cable to connect the projector and pc screen at a time.
2. Use "Video Splitter" to connect projector and pc screen at a time.
3. you can use a VGA cable to connect your pc screen with your projector VGA OUTPUT. here I show you the pictures.good_help_4.jpggood_help_5.jpggood_help_6.jpg

The projector is not recognizing the laptop, it says searching on the projector screen going through VGA, S video, etc.

Probably got the resolution on the laptop set too high for the projector. Go into your video control panel (accessed by right-clicking the desktop), set up the projector as a cloned monitor and make sure the screen resolution is low enough for the projector to handle.

I've connected the projector to my laptop using the VGA cable as stated in the manual. The projector reflects as it should, i can access the menu and input options which i then select RGB scart (though...

Not with any RGB input options, computers are not compatible with these. The projector needs to be set up to receive VGA. There must be a toggle button or menu entry somewhere on your projector that lets you do this or why would it have a VGA input?

Optoma EP716 source detection

It sounds like your module that controls the menu and the "cycling through" may not be in sync or may needs to be replaced. I had times have had to make sure the Optoma EP716 had to be first plugged in and "on" before the PC can communicate with it. Once the Optoma is "ON", then turn your PC/Notebook on. If there is no connection via USB, "S" cable and/or your VGA (be sure your PC/Notebook is set to have the external VGA "active"). Let me know if this works or not. Then we can try to move forward with other options for troubleshooting. BTW...how long have you had this multimedia and how many hours of use does it have?...JGUAM
