Re: Compaq FP 5315 monitor-Replacement of Power board

There are also 5 or 6 bad Capacitors on on top but as far as i know the only way to fix these power boards is to replace the componets themselves as you can not buy a power board.

Samsung SyncMaster 213T monitor after power failure the on light is on but the monitor will not do anything, no menu or anything just the black screen with the on light on.

This may be the power supply board.
the rectifier chip or diodes may have been fried by a surge of power when the power came back on.
If the monitor was not plug into a surge protector this may have damaged the power regulator the main board of the the monitor. The primary side of the board should be tested for faulty components.

Yuraku LCD TFT Monitor MA7BBA Wont power up

I've had the diods problem on such a monitor recently. To fix it I had to change the fuse and two 1N4007 diods as you can see on the following page:

You will notice I mounted the replacement diods on the solder side ( second hand components with too short leads) and that only 3 diod locations are seen on the component side; the fourth is hidden under the transformer on the top side.

Hope this can still be of any help.

Yeah just replace it with a regular 7.5 volt zener diode.

Will not power up

Try and replace the three Elite 16V 1000µF caps, especially if they are swollen.
Worked for a "Power on-then off" monitor of a friend of mine recently. Case easy to open, gotta find hidden screws to drop base. Let me know if it worked

Compaq FP 5315 Monitor Disassembly

This is how I did it.

1- Remove the four screws in the back of the monitor. Two are in the bottom corners and two more near the bottom center ( these hold the stand in place).
2- Remove the stand.
3-The case back is held on by the four screws and a number of plastic pressure clips. After removing the screws: using a fairly wide flat bladed screw driver; insert the blade in either of the two slots on the bottom edge of the case and twist with medium force. This begins the seperation of the back from the rest of the monitor. As the crack widens, begin moving the blade of the screw driver along the widening crack (around the case edge) and twisting gently. This releases each pressure clip in turn. Separate the case back from the rest of the monitor.

I did this this way with my monitor. It works.
Good luck.
