Blackberry 8700c A friend gave me his old unit which shows that it's on the Rogers network (network selection mode is set to automatic) but when I put my Rogers SIM card from my old motorola v551 into the 8700c, the unit shows "invalid SIM card". The blackberry is branded as Cingular but it doesn't appear to have been on that network. Can I fix this myself or will I have to pay rogers to fix it? Thanks

HI if you are in need to unlock your Blackberry 8700c mobile from network lock .Then visit Simpleunlocking.com here they ask you the country name from where you bought your mobile ,network name to which your mobile is locked and the IMEI number of your mobile .Then they deliver you code to unlock your mobile.
Try going to Options> Advanced options> Register now
Highlight any one other than the one in bold, then select menu> Register now. This will reregister you on the network and hopefully fix your texting issue by having the service books resent to your phone.
Do you have a sim card or Memory card in the phone yet? Make sure you are saving your contacts to one of those and not the phone itself.
check in the setting , network settings, if the network selection is manual or automatic
if in automatic,select to manual check in preferred network and select ur network and hope this will fixya
If it is set for one service supplier it should work on that sim - I suspect its locked on another supplier - question the seller on ebay - if he is ingenuine you can always leave bad feedback.
