K60xi won"t align cartridges

I recently replaced the color ink cartidge (hp 78) on my K60xi all-in-one. I can't get the unit to align the catridges. What can I do?

    I have the same problem.

    I have changed the cartridges for my printer and now I keep getting the "the cartridges needs to be aligned", I run the alignment options and the printer comes back with the same error.

    I just bought replacement carts from Office Depot (their Brand) and got the same error repeatedly. I used a paper towel to blot and check ink flow of each. The black was fine, but the color wasn't. I continued to blot until there was ink flow of all three colors...then mounted and "Aligned"...it worked.

    I guess sometimes even new carts are clogged from the git-go?

Printer says cartridge is out of ink but is practically new and hardly been used


Is it the original Hp catridge or you refilled it..???? you've replaced the black... so no problem with black.... color catridge would have dried... so remove th color catridge and wipe thi lower part gently with a wet cloth....!!!

in both cartridges
You need to replace and color cartridge or refill it

Printer always says "Remove and check color cartridge"


It must be your ruined catridge. Some times the wire connections are burned at the side of the catridge and you must thaw away it and buy a new color catridge.

Tops and bottoms of letters are cut off. I have changed the ink cartridge


Replace the old ink cartridge.
Verify that the unit is on. The On button is lit when the unit is on. If the device is not on, press the button to turn on the unit. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the unit. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. When replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. When replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right. Pull the print cartridge toward you and out of its slot. If the print cartridge is being removed because it is low or out of ink, recycle the print cartridge. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging. Remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab. Removing the Tape from the catridge.
  1. Will have Copper-colored contacts.
  2. Plastic tape with pink pull tab ( must be removed before installing ).
  3. Ink nozzles under tape
  4. The HP All-in-One prompts for an alignment of the cartridges every time a print cartridge is installed or replaced. Follow these steps to align the print cartridges from the control panel.
  5. Top & Bottom not printing properly.
  6. Load unused, plain, white letter, A4, or legal paper into the input tray
  7. If coloured paper is loaded in the Input tray when the print catridges are aligned, the alignment will fail. Load unused, plain white paper into the input tray when the Printer catridges are aligned, the alignment will fail. Load and unused plain white paper into the Input Tray and then try the alignment again.
    1. Press 6 to select Tools .
    2. Press 2 to select Align Print Cartridge The unit prints a print cartridge alignment sheet.
    3. Load the alignment sheet print-side down and top first in the center of the document feeder tray, and then press OK. Now the printer will print properly.

Empty cartridge


HP Deskjet 3915 Inkjet Printer.

Empty cartidge status is related to the refilled catridges.

Please do not use any refilled cartriges in the above printer.

There is a chance of leakage of ink as a result the entire printer will not work properly.

Buy genuine HP Catridges and install the same in the printer.

If the problem still persits, please lodge a complaint with local HP office and get the cartidge is replaced with a new and genuine one.

Try to make user of Annual Maintence serice contract with local authorized ho Vendor for regular servicing of this printer.

Color ink leaking


Are you using a refilled ink catridge,
If yes then please use a geniune HP Ink catridge.
Even if you are not using a refilled or Non HP Cartridge try these steps:
Take out both the ink cartridges from the All-In-One and unplug the power cable from the printer aswell as the wall outlet.
With a lint free cloth and little drinking water soke the lint free cloth it only needs to be moistioned clean the ink cartidges and the internal area on the All-In-One with the cloth and wipe off the ink from the printer and make sure it is all clean and dry (if you need more cloth do it untill it is clean).
Then insert cartridges back to the All-In-One make sure you do not touch the metal contacts, close the access door and plug the power cable diretly to a wall outlet with out a surg protector and then plug it back to the All-In-One and check.

Try disconnecting the power. If you've removed and checked your color cartridge and it looks fine, the problem is most likely a defective cartridge. Cartridges can be defective right out of the box, or they can fail if they haven't been used for a while. Replacing the color cartridge should solve your problem.

And always make sure we do not use refilled ink cartridges.
HP Printers are designed in such a way that it will not detect the refilled ink catridges or non-HP ink catridges, that is why HP if you guys know HP Generates its most of its Revenue by selling Cartridges, and also they are reliable, value for our money and trouble free thats because they are manufactured under six sigma quality.

Make sure to take out both the ink cartridges, unplug the power cable directly from All-In-One when there is still power in unit and unplug it also from the wall outlet, wait for atleast 1min, before reconnecting (but before reconnecting make sure to clean the metal contacts not the nozile where the ink comes out with a lint free cloth and little drinking water, only moistened and clean all the metal contacts with the same and make sure the contacts are not wet before inserting the cartidges back and do not touch the metal contacts) then insert the power cable directly to a wall outlet without a surg protector and then connect it back to the All-In-One and then allign.

try install catridge one by one see whether it is accepting or not. just install black catridge and see if you not getting any error that mean your balck catridge is ok may be problem with colour catridge it may me becoz of dry ink or dust in catridge nozle try to clean the catridge by tissue paper and see. bye
