I have just bought a brand new premium stereo headset Logitech. I made two skype calls which worked brilliantly to relatives in Australia. Just when I wanted to recall the first number the microphone status changed inexplicably to muted. No amount of patience or reconfigurin will remove this problem. I did not change any of the commands or switches on the headphones. The previous time this happened the problem seem to be intermittent and was caused by a lose connection in the on and off mechanism that comes with the headset. There is a microphone on and off switch and it seems the wires attached to this are faulty. Has any one else experienced this infuriating problem. Is the only solution to return the headphones and start again? Many thanks H

SOURCE: Head set problem with vista

you will need to go into the sound manager in control panel and make sure that the external mic is enabled as the default use and ensure in the sound settings that the mic is not muted, this is normally done by right clicking the speaker icon in the taskbar and selecting options and see if the mic is muted or not in the properties

I cannot set up h110 headset in my windows xp

Just connect the two connectors to your computer sound card.
Your computer should have a pink connector for the mic and a green for the speakers. You also could plug the speaker (headset) into the orange if your sound card has that colour.

Then you just adjust the volume for the headset with the sound settings of the computer.

The program you want to use the headset with, will also allow you to fine tune the set.

What size earphones or headset do i need

I would go for a USB headset. Logitec makes a nice one. Don't go for earbuds--the logitec has soft headset and mic built in.

Headset Microphone doesn't work

Plugged in? Is it a stereo plug? does your computer allow speaker and mic on the same wire? Does the outlet say Mic or Headset of Both? Had it worked in the past.

Some computers have a place for a mic - some for headset - some might have both. On a desktop, I would expect to find separate connections. Laptop, Id have to look.

A 'stereo' plug will have a tip, ring and barrel connection.

A 'mono' plug will have a tip and barrel connection only.

A stereo plug would allow a mic and head phone connection ujsing a 'common' for the return.

A mono plug would allow either a mic or a headset, not both.

If you could peer into the jack inside your computer, you could tell if it privides for three wire (stereo) or two wire (mono) operation.

I hope this helps ... If I missed your question, please reask.

I just bought a Logitech Clearchat Stereo Headset and am running Windows XP. The mic is not recognizing while plugged into the front or back plugs. Is there something wrong with my soundcard?

You should go to your Device Manager in the "System" category of the Control panel and see if indeed the driver for your mic is present. It will be listed under "Sound, Video and Gaming devices."

try uninstalling sound card from the device manager and reboot the computer.

if the mic does not return you may be missing a driver contact your laptop manufacturer or download new sound card drivers from the websight to restore mic function.

Logitech premium usb headset 350 help me pretty please

If when you talk into your mic you hear yourself from speakers...open your volume control(windows) and check the box to mute mic. Not for sure this is a fix to your problem but from what you wrote is similar to problem seen with voice chat software.
