What is the Operating system on the laptop ?
If it is XP then in the bottom right hand corner you will find Wireless network connection ( looks like 1 computer monitor). Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is windows Vista, then in the bottom right hand corner you will find 2 computer monitor icon. Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is Windows 98/ME/2000 then use the adapter utility to connect to the wireless network.
For MAC you will see the AIRPORT icon at the top.

Check the wireless settings of the router first . Make sure that yopu have all the wireless settings of the router. If you are not sure about the settings, then open the router set up and check the settings.

Iam having different ips from wan is this mean someone is accessing my network?

You just have Dynamic ip, nothing to worry about.

"Static IP addressing is for one customer on one IP address and Dynamic IP addressing assigns a different IP address each time the ISP customer logs on to their computer, but this is dependent upon the Internet Service Provider (ISP) because some ISP's only change the IP address as they deem it necessary.

If you have Dynamic IP Addressing through your Website Host it means that you are sharing an IP Address with several other customers.

If you are a beginner on the internet, an avid internet user, are entertaining the thought of starting your own website business, are a gamer, use VOIP or VPN there are several things you should know about IP Addressing."

I m trying to open the ip address so that i can update the cradlepoint phs 300 to the new firmware but the address page doesnt open

I had the same problem and finally realized the reason was that my wirelss modem IP adress conflicted with the PHS300. What happened is that it forced an IP change on the hotspot which totally screwed things up making me unable to log-into it.

i.e. default IP for hotspot is 192.168.0.1. So is the default IP for any wireless modem. Thus modem takes precidence in the chain and corrupts the hotspot when connected.

My recommendation for full setup is (sorry if TMI):

1) Perform hard reset as per the directions on the Cradelpont site first to change to default.
2) Connect wirelessly to the Cradlepoint unsecured network
3) Open a browser and go to 192.168.0.1. Password will be the 6 last characters of the devices MAC address
4) Change the device's IP to 192.168.10.1 and Save then reboot
5) Reconnect to the network, and in the browser go to 192.168.10.1 and go through the wizard and config as you wish
6) Save and reboot
7) Connect your wireless modem
8) Within seconds once the connection is green, you should have internet!

Cheers!

Wireless wont connect properly

Are you using the windows utility to connect or one that came with the laptop wireless card ?

It is possible that the two different things are both trying to control the card and only one can actually do it !

I usually let windows do it for me and then goto control panel, administrative services, services, and turn off the wireless zero config services and disable it.

That usually ensures a more stable wireless connection.

Unless you need to have a specific IP and have also given it the DNS serever as well then quite often it is better to set the TCP/IP properties for both IP and DNS to automatic.

That should fix you up but just in case it doesnt make sure you 100% have the correct drivers for the wireless card. Some drivers nearly work but not quite and I have seen them cause problems similar to yours

My wireless is connected, actually has an excellent signal, but i cannot browse any webpage

Ok let's try something for you. Going into your internet settings and clicking on tcp/ip properties, go ahead and write down the ip address assigned to you from your service provider. Once you have done that let's connect the modem into the port labeled WAN and then connect the computer to one of the other ports labeled 1-4. Now in an open internet explorer type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 one of these will open a window asking for username and password. Both should be admin. Once we are in the web based settings of your router you need to check the status of your router. On that page you should see the same ip address that you wrote down. If not go ahead and release and renew and see if you finally get the ip address to be the same. Once that is established you can check your ip address on your computer by going to the internet options and checking it. It should be somewhere between 192.168.1.2 through 192.168.1.256 (those number depend on the parameters of your router i.e. how many wireless devices are able to connect to your computer.) Silly question but do you have a wireless adapter on the computer that you are trying to connect? Laptops (new) usually have them built in and they must be turned on. Desktops require installation of a wireless adapter. Router's are basically looked at by your service provider as a computer behind your modem, they assign an IP address to your modem, whether you connect a computer or a router to your modem your service don't see the difference, it still assigns. Once the router receives the ip address from your service provider, it then has the duty of assigning IP addresses to all of the devices you wish to connect to the internet and each other.
Hope this helps

My router doesnt seem to be Broadcasting the wireless connecition!

it may be that the router is not assigning ip addreses properly, and is duplicating the ip address on all pc's. or you have done the windows diagnose and repair or detect problems. Go to the properties of each wireless card in control panel>network connections and on the TCP/IP line click propertes again and ensure obtain ip address automatically is checked. Also go into the routers settings and ensure DHCP is enabled to give all pc's an automatic ip address. Restart all pc's and your router (not Reset) and you should get renewed ip addresses and be able to connect.
