It may be asking for the bios password ,as the bios may be set to not allow any virus to write to boot sector as does the recovery cd.
can you enter the bios ok.

I think this is a cd you created and the password is the one you created to allow your own files to be written.
I find no way around this except to delete the password and recreate the cd
see the restore cd manual page 2

Ok there are two ways of fixing this.
A. If you know a bit about computer hardware this would help. If you clear the CMOS you have to do this by moving the CMOS jumpers.
B. The simplest way is to take out the battery in the motherbard for about 10 seconds and put it back in. This will reset the motherboard and it should take out that request for the password. I think this password was created in the BIOS. Let's hope this helps you out

How do I do a full recovery with the disc

Turn your computer on.

Insert the Disk and choose to enter BIOS, should be F2 but watch the screen to see the right function key.

Change the boot device order to: CD-ROM, HDD in that order.

Save changes and restart the computer.

The Recovery Disk would boot up and a wizard will guide you through the recovery process.

Follow the instructions to recover your computer.

Ran an image restore, but given me a login request for Administrator password. I set up a password the 2nd time I did the restore, but it's not recognizing my password when enter the 2nd time around which...

only administrator account has the priviledge to restore a system and it 's the password which you assigned for administrator that the restore wizard is asking.

As you can't remember or lost the password, you need to reset the password.

Download this softwware called "Elcomsoft System Recovery Professional"

It can easily reset you password or even let you know your forgotten password within a minute.

Here is the download link

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HUVCQWFK

Just type the security alphabets and click download.

It's a rar file, you need winrar to extract it.
and the password for that file is  : www.fullandfree.info

Extract the ISO image and burn it a CD.
Boot the system using that CD (Set your BIOS to boot from CD-ROM).
you can easily recovered the password or reset it.

Note down the password and carry on with your restoration.

there are many programs out there that can clear off passwords, and you can even use a flash drive to do it. so u just simply put the files on the flash drive.. pop it into the locked pc, restart the pc and then follow the directions on the program. I will not say the names of these programs as people can use them maliciously

PC freezes on boot-up

Try booting the thing in Safe Mode. Upon startup (after the Acer logo goes) press F8 several times. You will be offered a menu select Safe Mode (at the very top of the list). If the system reaches the desktop, you can repair your Windows. For the three fixes below you will need to go Start Menu>Run...
1) Write: fixmbr, and press ENTER.
2) Write: fixboot, and press ENTER.
3) Write: chkdsk, and press ENTER.
(The later will take several minutes, but you can read what stage it is doing).
