Alright Kelly,

Try to change the security mode to 64bitWEP and try to connect, it should work for sure.

Open 192.168.2.1 in your IE browser

click on security - leave the admin pswd blank

change the security to 64bitWEP(it should be a 10 digit number - 2 numbers per box) apply the changes

Try it with the i-phone

SOURCE: Linking my smc 7004 wireless router to ipod touch

I will advise you to configure the WEP encryption using your router before connecting using your IPOD.

Note: IPOD support WEP encryption. Check the network connection if the Internet is working properly.

I reset my network connections for my ipod touch then i deleted my pinger textfree app and it still won't let me log in

If its not letting you log into your WiFi the power cycle your Wireless Router (take out power for 10 seconds, put back in power) and then try and connect again.

If that doesn't work, restart your iPod.
Last and least, this will most likely be the issue (Rather Common) - Update the Wireless Routers firmware to a recent version.

Do i have to have a router to connect to belkin wifi on my ipod touch?

Yes you need wireless router to use wifi in ipod touch or on laptop.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method.
Then click on wireless and enable it.
. Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I've got a netgear wireless-G USB adapter I am getting my wi-fi signal but I get an invalid argument when trying to connect to itunes

You cannot connect a iPod touch to a wireless USB adaptor. It will connect to any wireless router either in your home or wherever there is a wireless network and you know the password. To connect to iTunes on your computer, just plug in the cable that came with it to your USB port on the computer. Hope this helps.

My ipod touch is connected but won't use the internet.

Your router is blocking the iPod Touch from using the wireless.  Go into your router settings (depends on your router) and find the security or firewall for the wireless page.  You will need to enter in the MAC address of the iPod Touch (found in Settings>General>About - it is labeled as Wi-Fi address).
