    Mine isn't charging either. LED does not light. 12v and ground confirmed, but the whole circuit has really high resistance, about 12m Ohms with the charging connections shorted.

    One of the Resistors has burnt the board, but still connects to everything.

Unless you are using your Mag. in extreme dusty, dirty conditions, it is not necessary to take it apart for cleaning. The Mag. is sealed against dirt and moisture. Mags are about the best lite made but always remember; 'Anything man made is subject to fail and usually at the most inconvenient time.' If I knew exactly where you are at in the dissasembly I could help you reassemble it. However, barring that;

Sounds like your Nicad pack is on it's way out. It has almost certainly developed a "Memory" effect which is the gradual loss of capacity caused by a crystal build-up on the Anode or +ve terminal on each cell. The other issue is that in extreme cases one or more of the cells can undergo Reverse Polarity effectivly putting it out of action. The ideal solution would be to charge it via an "Intelligent" charger which is pre-programmed via IC's etc to go through a series of charge/discharge cycles which will reverse the effects. Sadly Mag don't provide this for their V1 and V2 MagCharger-relying on an old fashioned trickle charger to do the job. You could run the cell right down then charge up fully and repeat the whole exercise twice which might rescue it but if it hasn't worked then it's time to acquire a new NiCad pack. DON'T buy a NiMH as it requires a totally different chatger to work properly. Hope this help. Regards-Peter.

Can I keep my maglite flashlight connected to the charger continuously while not in use?

It would be a bad idea. The battery would soon not be able to hold a charge. It's best to charge it up fully and then take it off the charger.

The green light means it is ready to use. If the battery is bad though, the light will still be green.

Rechargeable maglite won't turn on.

I found out the light bulb was bad even though it looked good. Had a fine break in the filament that I couldn't see with my eyes. Pulled the light bulb part way out, put a voltage meter on the two prongs. It showed I had voltage right up to the light bulb which told me the light bulb was bad. Ordered a new one and it works.

Weak light

If the charge lite comes on when charging it means your transformer is still good. Replace the battery.

If you get no charge light transformer is bad, if this is the case (personally) i would replace the charger & battery for that peace of mind.

Rechargeable mag light not working .

when you dropped it you probably knocked the contacts inside out of place. or you broke a soldered connection. if you can take it apart you can most likely fix this yourself. when you remove the front lens assembly there is a retaining clip that you need to remove so you can take the guts out.....please rate this

Maglite charger

Hold the maglite after 30 min charge if warm means charging , if cold no charging , test the light when so bright means very good.
