20763--in small office with 8 ft ceiling. Will it be too fast such

In small office with 8 ft ceiling. Will it be too fast such that it will blow my office papers around (they are all over the office). I am wondering if I ought to exchange it for a 4 blade fan thinking that that one will have a lower rpm on the first fan speed setting? Can you give me a good idea on this before I take this 5 blade out of box and install only to find out it is too powerful even on the lowest setting.

There is a little black switch that reverses rotation so it's pulling air up. On low with this reversed it should be just fine.

We just had 2 56inch Antigua Hampton Bay fans with 5 Leaf blades installed. The air flow is poor. We have 15 ft. cathedral ceiling on an angle. A 3 ft. extension rod was used on each fan.

ceiling fans have a direction switch in the cover just above the fan motor
it is very possible that during the installation this switch was moved to the wrong direction for the fans to blow down
get a good step ladder and with the fan off check the fan switch and move it to a new position
there should be a small tag saying rev/fwd or up/down
when looking up at the fan , it should be rotating clockwise

If a caton is 18" X 24" x24" how many cubisc feet is it

Quickly the calculation can be done easily in your head. 2 ft x 2 ft x 1.5 ft = 6 cu. ft.
In inches, 18 x 24 x 24 = 10368 cu. in. Divide this by cu. inches in 1 cu. ft (12 x 12 x 12 = 1728) giving you a result of 6 cu. ft.

We've taken this fan down. How do you take the fan blades off????

The blades are usually held on with little screws with nuts and washers on them. Usually a screw driver will turn the screws.

Hi i need to know how to convert 80 sq ft to cubic meters

You don't. Square feet is a measure of area while cubic meters is a measure of volume.

Consider a room 8 ft by 10 ft. The floor area is 80 square ft. What's the volume of the room in cubic feet (let's not worry about converting to meters yet). Well, that depends on the height of the ceiling, doesn't it? If the ceiling is 8 ft high then the volume is 640 cubic feet. If the ceiling is 12 ft high then the volume is 960 cubic feet. Without that third dimension, you can't calculate the volume.

Fan continues to wobble at all speeds.

Check to make sure you don't have a wire pinched between the Triangular ball and the canopy. If you don't have anything pinched between it, make sure your electric box isn't loose. If it isn't, pull down moderately on the fan with it off and move the fan around it's full axis several times, which should seat the ball into the canopy better. Almost every Hunter with the HandsFree canopy I've installed, I've had to do this little "procedure" which the manual says nothing about.

Fan won't turn on, dont know where switch is

I looked up the owners manual for your fan at the following site: http://www.hunterfan.com/search.aspx?search=20763
Click on the pdf file labeled owner's.This manual indicates there should be a pull chain for turning on and off the fan. Maybe the chain has broken off up inside the fan. You can follow the instructions in this manual to take the fan apart and replace the pull chain.

Replacing old fan with Hunter 20763.

People find all kinds of creative ways to wire things. White wires are always supposed to be neutrals and therefore should always go with other white wires, and colored wires should always be hot and should always go with other colored wires. If you have a voltage tester you could test to see if in fact the blue wire is actually the hot and the white is actually the neutral. (test each wire to a ground). If the previous fan was wired backwards, it would not affect the operation of the fan or lights at all. But you'd probably want to make sure the new fan was wired properly. In that case connect the white from the fan to the neutral and the black and black/white to the hot.

Fan not blowing air.

theres a small toggle switch on the fan

that switch is to change direction on the way the fan is blowing

one direction for downward blowing

the other direction is for upward blowing

depends on the area you have to determine which is the best, but i doubt area restriction will hamper force air blowing, air will flow regardless, the area might be big so you dont feel it.

as being living in the attic, HOT AIR rises, so you might want to invest in some installation for the ceiling, because whent he sun hit the roof, it will create an oven effect, in your living area. the hot air is always present, you should have a ventilation fan blowing the hot air out, like thru a small window, the more hot air you blow out, the better.

not sure if this make sense. not sure how big the room is, as FANs are NOISY by nature.
