There is not sound coming out of the speakers. mute not on, power is on. need help with the speakers

Could be any number of things. While unit is on, try turning the speaker plugs in the back of the unit. May be a connection. Also, check the speaker wire to make sure there are no breaks in it. Visually check the wire and run your fingers along the wire to feel for any irregularities or breaks. Make sure wire is secure in back of speaker and has not been pulled loose or out.

WHEN i power on sony hcd-gn 888 power off and stand by indicator blenks

From the description you have provided, the audio output ic is loading the system down causing it to shutdown, the remedy! replace the audio output ic. But to check! power off, remove speaker wires from back and power on, if standy stays on, the above part must be replaced, but if standby stays off there is short in one of the wires and speaker.

Getting a reading "Protect" when

Hi, This feature is designed to protect the unit from short circuits going to the speakers.
To test this,
1 Shut off the System
2 Disconnect the speakers from the back of the system.
3 Start the system with the volume turned completely down to 0.
4 If the system starts and does not go into protect. Do the following

a Turn off the system
b Check the wiring to each speaker and make sure none of the wires or wire strands are touching each other. Do this at the speaker end of the speaker wire and at the system end of the wire
c Connect the speakers back up observing not to have any strands of the wire touching each other
d Turn the power on and see if it plays OK.
e If it does not power up properly. Leave the system completely off for 45 minutes. Then turn it back on and see if it works properly.
If it does not at this point. Professional repair will be necessary.
Hope this helps,

No audio

The word PROTECT appears because there is a short. It can be in your speakers, try running it without the speakers plugged or check to see if your speaker wires are touching (shorting).
If it still says PROTECT, its because there is a short somewhere in the system, probably from the output section.
The system does this to prevent anything from damaging the electronic components inside.

Standy mode system wil not turn on

When you connected the speakers, one of the following may have occurred: 1) Crossed the wires (smoked the outputs) 2) Presented too low an impedence load to the amp section (overheated and smoked) There are other possibilities as well, but those are the most common. In any case, try disconnecting hte speakers altogether and trying to turn on the system. If it turns on, then the problem is either the wiring or a bad speaker. If the system stil won't power up completely, then the output section needs to be checked. These units have discrete output transistors that can be checked by a service shop. These are not too expensive but are somewhat unique to Aiwa systems. Figure on $20-$40 for parts. Dan

Panasonic SB-AK57 cable fix

Hi Raj,
you,ll find that you have 2 sets of cables.
you need to use a multi-meter tester, to find a continuity circuit of the speaker. If you don,t have A Meter try the red as + and every other 1 individually as A -.
If that does,nt work try the black with any individual.

Hope this helps, solve your Problem.

You will need an amp strong enough to power them, then the plugs to connect it, usually RCA. A car amp will easily power them.
