hey... how old exactly is your psp 1001? i have a friend with the same problem.. turns out something happened to his psp... something happened or that he did something accidentally to his psp...i don't if this is any help but he always played his psp 24/7 and never stopped.. it was always on.. but now sometimes his psp doesn;t produce any sound anymore... try to take your psp back to sony for a repair.
My son had the same problem. I put tape around the top part of the headphone jack and plugged it in. Worked great!!! Don't know how long it'll hold up, but it's a quick fix for now.....
it might have to do with the type of psp that u are running
my old phat had no problems with videos and the newer motherboard that i just put into it has no problems either. aslo, did u try using headphones? in another case if u only use headphones that could be the problem. the headphones i mean. of course there could also be something wrong with ur motherboard and if so i would recamend for u not to worry about it unless it totaly craps out. then u would have to take it to a shop to get fixed
well something might be stuck in the psp and thepsp might think its headfones and wont make the sound go outloud.see if ther is anything in the psp souund hole wer the sound plug is
Your headphone jack is probably damaged and needs replacement. Here is one I found on the net:
Repair your broken "Hands Free" socket, soldering required. This item is also available pre-mounted to the board, ready to plug in. Free shipping.
